Although purple passion does appreciate regular waterings, root rot will quickly develop if the plant is left standing in water for too long. First off, I’m not completely in agreement with letting these plants’ soil dry out before watering again. They do like to be kept lightly moist, though it is true that waterlogging can cause issues.
