FutureStarrABlue Sky Nursery
The Blue Sky promise is “We Promise To Care For Your Child As We Would Our Own”, this promise is at the centre of our beliefs and every staff member upholds this promise. It is Blue Sky’s aim to provide the best possible care for every child who spends time with us. The nursery is bright and cheerful and the staff are dedicated to ensuring that each child settles well so they can enjoy their time with us. We strongly believe in working in partnership with parents, in order to achieve this we do our best to share information about their child’s day, what they have enjoyed and achieved. We are now proud to offer parents totally flexible childcare. We can arrange your child’s care with us around your needs to help make life a little less complicated for you, these sessions can be set weekly or as flexible as you want.
As my wife and I are teachers, we sent our daughter to Blue Sky so that we could continue to work (mainly from home). Upon arrival, her temperature is taken to ensure that she doesn’t pose a risk to other children or staff. It is a non-contact thermometer, so she is not at all bothered by having her temperature read. Understandably, given that my daughter is 3, social distancing between herself, staff and other children isn’t really possible; however, I trust that staff members with any symptoms would not be entering the setting. Also, as the other children are tested before entering, the risk is minimal. My daughter loves going now more than ever as it feels ‘like normal’ to play with friends. I think it is so important for her social and emotional well-being also. I am very grateful to all staff members for continuing to care for my child.Blue sky have been absolutely amazing throughout this whole pandemic. I can’t thank them enough for making me feel reassured by the way they put my daughters safety and happiness first. The procedures they have put into place are fantastic, like checking temperatures before entry and adhering to social distancing they have really settled any nerves I first had. Overall I think the genuine pure love and care they have for our children has really shone through these past couple of months and I wouldn’t have my daughter anywhere else.
Success came fairly quickly. In 1985, the couple moved the business to its present site in Beamsville, along Highway 81. Today, Blue Sky Nursery continues as a family-owned business serving independent garden centres, nurseries and landscape contractors. The company has built a strong reputation for producing high quality plant material in various container sizes and quick delivery when the customer needs it. Blue Sky’s product line includes a wide selection of perennials, broad leaf evergreens and flowering shrubs. And oh yes, the blueberry plants are still growing and part of the nursery’s product line on the 28.5 acre property. That is proved with the fact that Blue Sky Nursery is the first nursery in Ontario to receive initial stage approval for the Domestic Phytosanitary Certification Program (DPCP), developed in response to the increased threat to the industry posed by invasive pests. The program is accredited by the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute. The DPCP system allows nurseries to promote and sell plants certified free from regulated pests and significantly free from non-regulated pests. Once an onsite inspection takes place and the site meets the required standard, final approval is given. (Source: horttrades.com)
