3. Sophia Friesen

Her red waves and nonchalant coolness was why she was one of Fall’s most interesting models at Gucci’s show. She’s new to the scene, but with her captivating look, I’m sure, she will go the distance. See her in black & white at the 25 second mark below:

4. Madison Stubbington

She is an Austrailian girl who grew up on a horse farm before getting scouted. She made her debut at Christopher Kane’s Fall 2014 show, but has steadily built up her clients since then. Many of her clients seek her out because she brings a bit of cuteness to their catwalks. She’s worked a lot with Gucci, Giambattista Valli, and Valentino.

7. Cintia Dicker

This Brazilian-born natural redhead beauty has been around for a while. She’s been in many commercials and has even been in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. See a look behind the scenes of that famous photo shoot below. She’s seen walking the runway a lot for Dolce & Gabbana and in ad campaigns for Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent.

8. Karen Elson

She has become the industry’s most iconic redhead models of all time. Her curly crimson locks and fair skin have landed her gigs with all the top photographers (Weber, Testino, Demarchelier), magazines (W, Harper’s Bazaar, all the Vogues) and fashion (Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Dior). 9. Maggie Rizer

She’s rocked covers of Vogue and endless runways after being discovered by Steven Meisel. She’s a natural strawberry-blonde, but has chosen to lighter her hair to a cherry-crimson in hopes of standing out amongst the era’s endless stick-straight blondes, and it’s worked! Take a look at some of her best work:

10. Anastasia Ivanova

Her wide-set blue eyes and full, regal features, Anastasia looks like she’s from Renaissance royalty. This Russian girl used to be a synchronized swimmer, but now walks the runways Maison Martin to Delpozo. See her, below, model after a Paris Fashion Week show for photographers:

11. Anniek Kortleve

She has a piercing stare, invisible eyebrows, and fuzzy copper hair. This beauty has been making a name for herself since the Fall of 2011. In one season, she walked an overwhelming 33 shows! She’s been cast in Balenciaga’s campaigns too.

In the week that leading style and British beauty icon Sienna Miller dyed her hair red, today the UK celebrates national Redhead Day. Taking place in Islington, London, the campaign’s mission is to celebrate everything that makes gingers unique.

In honour of the special day we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite flame-haired models who have challenged old-fashioned notions of beauty with their “unconventional” striking looks.

Natalie Westling

18 year-old model of the moment Natalie Westling was scouted by the Agency Arizona in Scottsdale, and soon after signed to The Society Management in New York City. She opened Marc Jacobs’ SS14 show as an exclusive and has subsequently fronted campaigns for Miu Miu, Dior and starred on the cover of i-D magazine.

Lily Cole

Lily Cole’s modelling career began after a chance meeting with a model scout when she was 14 years old. She first covered British Vogue at 16 and has modelled for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Prada, and Moschino. In 2004, she was crowned Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards and Vogue Paris named her as one of the top models of the noughties.

Alex Louis

IMG model Alex Louis’ combination of freckles, red hair, stunning features and gorgeous complexion has ensured that she’s one of London’s most in-demand models, from catwalk to editorial.

Cintia Dicker

Ahhh Brazilians. Nothing quite compares. Brazilian Sports Illustrated model Cintia Dicker has appeared in advertisements for Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent and worked repeatedly for Victoria’s Secret, H&M and Gap. Such high paying clients have allowed her to support children’s charities in Brazil and launch her own swimwear label Dicker Swimwear.

Adwoa Aboah

It was inevitable that actress and model Adwoa Aboah would take the fashion world by storm, mostly thanks to her arresting beauty but also perhaps due in part to her influential power couple parents. Her mother Camilla Lowther founded transatlantic talent agency CLM and her father Charles Aboah owns event location company Compass Locations. Adwoa’s striking beauty has seen her model for Vogue, H&M and Aldo to name a few.

Georgie Hobday

Following her headline-stealing 16th birthday party, Georgie Hobday was soon snapped up by Storm modelling agency which likened her ethereal redhead beauty to that of supermodel Lily Cole’s. Originally from Brighton, 22 year-old Georgie now lives in London and has featured in editorials for magazines such as Tatler, i-D and Wonderland, as well as fronting campaigns for Mawi, Agent Provocateur and Illamasqua.

George Hard

18-year-old FM model George Hard has the angelic looks of a cheeky cherub. With a full head of ginger curls, hundreds of freckles, glittering green eyes and the perfect pout, George has been one of the most exciting faces on the menswear catwalks for the past couple of seasons.

Fay Alice Parsons

Essex-born, 17-year-old Fay began her modelling career during SS15. The aspiring ballet dancer, though still a relatively new face, has already modelled for Another Magazine, Wallpaper, Selfridges, Garage and L’Officel Mexico. We can’t wait to see her light up the catwalks for SS16.

Hazel Townsend

Storm model Hazel looks as though she’s stepped straight out of a pre-Raphaelite painting with striking features and long golden, strawberry blonde locks. It’s no wonder the beauty has been shot for international publications from Vogue Italia to Hunger.
