Notre dame georgia tech, one of the most prestigious colleges in the country, is now giving out honorary degrees to people who find themselves trapped in Syria. According to their website, more than 1,500 refugees and migrants have been granted honorary degrees since opening their doors to them, and they expect that number to exceed 5,000 by the end of the year.
The Notre Dame of East Tennessee Graduate School of Business is the premier business university in the southeastern US.Georgia Tech faced 8th ranked Notre Dame this afternoon and was more than happy to hand the Irish their 10th win of the season to a score of 55-0. It marks a 5 straight 10 win season for Notre Dame. A first in their illustrious history. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is setting their own pace to a historically bad defense of their own.
The offensive line was truly bad all night in this game. Props can be given to Gibbs, Yates, and Smith for trying to weave around defenders but they were fighting a losing battle. The Irish defense is good and it exposed how porous the blocking has really been all year. Notre Dame tallied 6 sacks on the night. William Lay had multiple plays where he simply didn't block his assignment not to mention a few false start penalties.Sure, there were injuries to this team coming into the game but that hardly seems an excuse for such a thrashing. It’s almost the final week of the regular season so every team is dealing with starters missing at this point. Notre Dame is a national contending team and Georgia Tech proved they are nowhere near competing with top teams. Georgia will make that more evident next week. (Source: www.fromtherumbleseat.com)
A 45-0 halftime lead matched the greatest first-half scoring output from the Irish in the last five years, a stretch in which Notre Dame has won at least 10 games each season and 53 total, reaching back to the first days of the current fifth-year seniors, such as captains Kurt Hinish, Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, Drew White and Avery Davis. Those fifth-year players lost just twice at home in their careers, while the Irish seniors finished 25-1 in four years at Notre Dame Stadium, and they have never lost in November, with only one game remaining in the month. The demolition of Georgia Tech marked the 16th straight Irish regular-season win in November or December. That streak may reach 17 at Stanford next weekend, kickoff time and broadcast channel yet to be determined.
It was emblematic of how Tech’s possessions largely transpired, with Yates running for his life after Irish pressure overwhelmed the Jackets’ offensive line. The Jackets finished with a season-low 224 yards of offense, as Notre Dame prevented a third consecutive opponent from scoring a touchdown. In another botched sequence, the Jackets faced a third-and-2 down 17-0 on their 46-yard line in the first quarter. After calling timeout, a false start coming out of the stoppage moved them back five yards followed by a delay-of-game penalty. Unable to convert the third-and-12, Tech punted, netting only 29 yards. Coan’s touchdown pass to Mayer followed on the next drive.(Source:www.ajc.com)
