Moira Kelly (born March 6, 1968) is an American actress. She is known for portraying Kate Moseley in the 1992 film The Cutting Edge as well as single mother Karen Roe on the teen drama One Tree Hill. She is also known for playing the role of Donna Hayward in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, replacing Lara Flynn Boyle in the prequel to the 1990 TV series Twin Peaks. Other roles include Dorothy Day in Entertaining Angels: The Dorothy Day Story, White House media consultant Mandy Hampton in the first season of The West Wing, and the voice of Simba's love interest Nala in The Lion King and its direct-to-video sequels The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1½. She also played Hetty Kelly and Oona O'Neill in Chaplin.

The captivating dark-haired Kelly made her professional debut playing a young woman manipulated into killing her stepmother in the TV movie, "Love, Lies and Murder" (1991). The same year, she made her first feature appearance in "The Boy Who Cried Bitch" and gained attention for her brief performance as the title character's neighborhood girlfriend, a teen prostitute and orphan, in "Billy Bathgate" (both 1991). In 1992, Kelly played her first leading role as an Olympic ice-skating diva in the romantic drama "The Cutting Edge." That same year, she played the dual roles of Hetty Kelly and Oona O'Neill in Richard Attenborough's hefty biopic "Chaplin." As the voice of Nala in Disney's blockbuster "The Lion King" (1994), Kelly earned new fans among the toddler set. The tots' older siblings were more apt to have seen her subsequent performances in the sub-par comedy "With Honors" and the intriguing "Little Odessa" or "The Tie That Binds" (all 1995). Kelly then went on to become a regular, named Annie Cornell, on the TV series "To Have & To Hold" (1998-1999). She was cast as Cynthia in the film "Henry Hill" the following year (1999). Kelly was also cast as a regular character, Madeline Hampton, in the very popular TV series The West Wing (1999-2000).

Born March 6, 1968 in Queens, New York, she is the third of six kids. Her father, Peter, was trained as a concert violinist. Her mother, Anne, is a nurse. Both are Irish immigrants. Moira was raised in Ronkonkoma, NY. She attended Connetquot Senior High School and graduated in the class of 1986. Later Moira attended Marymount Manhattan College. In 1984 Moira was cast in a small role in Connetquot Senior High School's production of Annie. Due to illness, the young woman playing Miss Hannigan was replaced, causing a series of cast changes. Director Eric Martinsen chose to recast Moira as Grace Farrell. She was a great success, and so began her career.
