Corey Stoll does not want to talk about the Wig. “Do we really?” he asked, sighing deeply. The bald actor, who gained fame in roles on “House of Cards” and “Girls” (after a breakout moment playing Ernest Hemingway in Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris”), wore a hairpiece in the first season of “The Strain,” the FX series from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse. Mr. Stoll, 40, plays a CDC scientist investigating an epidemic of vampirism; by Season 2, his wig was gone. “Wig gate,” fans dubbed it. (Season 3 begins Aug. 28.) (Source: www.nytimes.com)

In the meantime, Mr. Stoll is starring as Ulysses in Shakespeare in the Park’s “Troilus and Cressida,” a bruising production set amid modern-day warfare that opens on Aug. 9 and runs through Aug. 14. As directed by Daniel Sullivan, Ulysses is a technocrat military adviser, “this sort of Iago-meets-Nate Silver persona,” Mr. Stoll said. “There’s some weird contradictions within him.” (Source: www.nytimes.com Mr. Stoll, an Upper West Side native who lives in New York and has a baby son with his wife, Nadia Bowers, an actress, has been relishing late nights rehearsing in an empty Central Park. “Sublime,” he said. Though he is most often recognized for “House of Cards,” he’s also played a villain in “Ant-Man” and a mobster in Mr. Allen’s new film, “Café Society.” (Source:www.nytimes.com))

www.rottentomatoes.com)A hardworking and talented character actor who immersed himself into each character he played, Corey Stoll gained critical recognition for portraying one of the most iconic literary figures of all time in a film written and directed by Woody Allen. While lesser actors might have been intimidated by playing Ernest Hemingway in an Allen film, Stoll brought the author back to life in "Midnight in Paris" (2011) with a nuanced, scene-stealing performance. Growing up with a background in experimental theater and performance art, Stoll eventually made his way to Hollywood and quickly landed supporting roles on television dramas and acclaimed features such as "North Country" (2005). He often returned to his theater roots; in fact, it was a Broadway appearance that introduced Stoll to cinematic auteur Allen, who invited him to read for a part in "Midnight in Paris." Landing the role of Hemingway put Stoll on the map, and set him up for a long and successful career as an actor of the stage and screen. (Source:

In Newark, Stoll plays Tony Soprano's uncle Junior Soprano, a nebbishy mobster who eventually goes to shocking lengths to procure a respectable position in his family (no spoilers, I promise). Look me up.” (Source:www.glamour.com www.glamour.com)))“It was kind of a unique challenge in that this character is already well established as an older man,” Stoll says. “The audience knows and loves him well, so I tried to find that line between being that same character played by another actor, that is recognizable to the audience without just doing an impression—making him my own but also making him the same guy.” (Source:

One striking scene from the film takes place with Junior in bed with his girlfriend as he recovers from an injury. Similar to his recent appearance in HBO's Scenes From a Marriage, Stoll's character reaches a breaking point during a volatile fight with his significant other. Thankfully, Stoll says his marriage to actor Nadia Bowers is significantly less tumultuous. (Source: www.glamour.com)
