I tried to picture the house that Mrs. Ben must live in.

Gray Owl (2137-60 or OC-52 - same color, 2 different collections!) has been a very popular gray paint color for the past half decade, alongside Benjamin Moore's other popular gray, Stonington Gray. If you are looking for a gray paint color that adds some brightness, but is certainly still a gray, then this may be the paint color you're looking for.

Agreeable Gray has an LRV of 62. LRV, or Light Reflecting Value, is the number that refers to how light or dark a color is on a scale of 0-100. The closer the number is to 100, the lighter it is (white being the lightest). The closer the number is to 0, the darker it is (black). (Source: jennakateathome.com)

I very rarely use Classic Gray but when I do, it’s this exact lighting situation above with an abundance of natural light. Gray Owl, Repose and especially Stonington would go too cool/sterile and maybe even light blue in this light.

The best interior and exterior paint lines are the Aura. Aura is Benjamin Moore's latest paint technology - their Gennex platform, which features brand new resin and colorant technology for superior results. The second level would include the Regal interior or Moorgard exterior lines of paint, and the Moorwood line of exterior stain. The Ben interior and exterior lines of paint offer a value priced quality level of paint. The Ben lines are based on the new Gennex technology, but a less expensive price point for those who don't want to spend for the additional quality of Regal or Aura. A stormy gray isn’t as fresh and clean looking as a gray with a cleaner blue or blue/green in it. It has a subtle, low-key look and can be a great backdrop for artwork as shown below. And while Stonington Gray does have a slight blue undertone (that can sometimes flash a bit green), it’s pretty soft and subtle.

So, if you’ve seen my own foyer, you’ll know I’m TOTALLY partial to the light fixture Shannon and Aaron have here in their very lovely foyer. And while we use Benjamin Moore Nimbus (also a very true, but bit darker gray with an LRV of 60) I love how Owl Gray looks in this space with a great amount of natural light.
