FutureStarrMinecraft How to Make a Serveror
On this Monday, let's create a Minecraft server, in which we group a multiplayer world. The Minecraft world is where all our worlds come together, so let's go on a journey to understand how to make a server.
The command line “enable-command-block=false” is a line that disables the use of the programming command block in the server. Setting this to “enable-command-block=true” will let the command block be used. The command block is a helpful tool to start teaching the basics of coding to Minecraft players. CodaKid has helpful courses that review the use of command blocks and the basics of programming with Minecraft.
Before you try to do any of this at home, these instructions are meant for parents who are helping their kids. Thus, kids MUST get parent permission and choose a time when they can supervise and help. Setting up and running an online server means that anyone with your external IP address will be able to join your server and play in your Minecraft world. Think carefully about who you invite to play on your server! (Source: www.idtech.com)
JRE stand for Java Runtime Environment. JDK stands for Java Development Kit. JRE is a package tool designed to run Java programs. JDK is a package of tools designed to develop Java programs. The JDK comes with the JRE which comes with the JVM. If you have JDK then you have JRE and JVM. Vanilla Minecraft does not need JDK, but plugins may require it.
Your computer specs that are needed heavily depend on what type of server you run and how many players are on at any given time. The more players logged onto your server will require higher amounts of RAM and a more advanced processor. The same goes for adding mods to your server. You can get away with a few gigs of ram if you only play Vanilla (meaning no mods!), but as soon as you start adding those awesome mods you’ll want to double, triple, or even quadruple the amount of RAM dedicated to your server.
