Stem Plot Generator

The Stem Plot Generator is a web app based on part of the stemplot library. The Stem Plot Generator lets users put together interactive guides for their coursework, homework, or presentations with a JavaScript coding library. The Stem Plot Generator is an online generator that helps people create great-looking stem plots with just a few clicks and a download in seconds!

Stem and Leaf Plot Graphing: It is a specific table used to showcase the data in the interesting way. Here each digit in the data is split into a stem (1st digit(s)) and leaf (last digit(s)). It plots data similar to the horizontal bar graph but uses the original data instead of bars. The stem and leaf plot is similar to histogram in displaying the statistical data.

One simple graph, the stem-and-leaf graph or stemplot, comes from the field of exploratory data analysis. It is a good choice when the data sets are small. To create the plot, divide each observation of data into a stem and a leaf. The leaf consists of a final significant digit. For example, 23 has stem two and leaf three. The number 432 has stem 43 and leaf two. Likewise, the number 5,432 has stem 543 and leaf two. The decimal 9.3 has stem nine and leaf three. Write the stems in a vertical line from smallest to largest. Draw a vertical line to the right of the stems. Then write the leaves in increasing order next to their corresponding stem. Median refers to the middle number in a dataset. Since the stem-and-leaf plot usually arranges the numbers in ascending order, all you need to do is find the centermost leaf from the stem-and-leaf display by counting from either side, attach it with its stem, and voilà! You'll have your median!

To use this calculator, type or paste your data in the text window. Separate the different values by spaces, commas, or newlines as you enter them. Then press Calculate. Your browser will open a new window and display the Stem-and-Leaf plot. When you are done looking at the new window press the Exit button. (Source: www.calculator.com)
