With the theatrical premiere of Star Wars: Episode IX on December 20, 2019 and a new Disney streaming service slated for 2019, the future is looking pretty bright for Star Wars collectibles.

Let’s face it, there is a ton of Star Wars-related merchandise on the market and toys are really just the tip of the iceberg, though it’s normally everyone’s initial go-to choice. There’s a nice collection of houseware merchandise with everything you need to deck out your kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. Then you have a plethora of books spanning a wealth of both fiction (the Legends series and upcoming new titles) and non-fiction books. We can’t forget the amount of video games, board games, music, and other media that have been released over the last few decades. In short, there are plenty of avenues in which one can start a collection.

Ever since being introduced to us in A New Hope, we’ve seen Luke go through all the motions to eventually become a true Jedi master. Growing up from his humble beginnings in Tatooine, he learned the ways of the force to become a figurehead in the fight against the Empire and the First Order. There’s a number of classic Luke moments, but one which captures him perfectly is this special statue from Kotobukiya which features him right at the start of his adventure. Along with his skills with a lightsaber, he was also quite the fighter pilot alongside his trusty aid R2-D2. His ability and precision with an X-Wing destroyed the first Death Star so it only seems right that he’s honoured in statue form, which is superb 1/10 scale representation.
