Star Tsp100 Future Print Not Printing

Finally found a solution for all your troublesome print jobs! The estimator on the front of your Tsp100 indicates the cost of a print with the use of a number beside it to tell you what cost you can expect to get back in terms of Tsp100s.

The fix that seems to work for most of my customers who use the TSP100 is to unplug it and plug it into another USB port. This is not a 100% fix. Another fix is to remove device, turn off, turn on again, then let it reinstall the device and printer object. And the nuclear option to uninstall and reinstall from latest driver. One customer could not get any of these solutions to work. I am no longer recommending Star products and recommend Epson or Citizen receipt printers. This is NOT Microsoft's issue but an issue with how the Star printer driver software is designed and installed.

Enter a descriptive name for the preset, such as Receipt or Label, or if you use both a receipt printer and label printer, the generic Lightspeed Printer. If you use a receipt printer and a label printer, select All Printers for Preset Available For. This ensures that the preset is available when printing to your receipt or label printer. If you're using a receipt printer or label printer only, select Only this printer for the Preset Available For option to link the preset to the printer that is currently selected from the Printer list of the Print dialog. A linked preset is automatically applied when selecting the corresponding printer. (Source: retail-support.lightspeedhq.com)

To verify that the roll is thermal-coated, scratch the outer surface of the paper with a coin or similar hard object. If the topcoat shows a gray mark where the scratch was made, the paper is thermal-coated. Next, verify the thermal paper is loaded correctly and print a self-test. To print a self-test simple power your printer OFF, press the FEED button and power the printer ON only releasing the FEED button when printing begins. For more information on printing self-tests, please visit the Self-Test FAQ article.

Anyone else notice that the Star TSP100 receipt printer is completely broken with the Microsoft Windows 10 June 2021 Cumulative Update KB5003637? I've had to uninstall the update on every computer with a TSP100, or a TSP100+cashdrawer combination. In either setup, it doesn't print (or doesn't print reliably). With a cashdrawer, it infinitely causes the cashdrawer to re-open itself along with not printing. Hopefully Microsoft/Star are aware of this and working on a fix. (Source: www.reddit.com)
