Sky High Cast

Sometimes, we keep tabs on our family and friends when they are up in the sky! We make a game of it, trying to figure out where they are, which airline they are on, and who they are with. It’s a lot of fun and it helps our mind stay off things that wouldn’t make us smile.

I had with me my son and two nieces, ages were 5, 8, and 12. Add to the mix a 40 something year old and we all came out with smiles on our faces. Usually with this mix someone is disappointed, but not this time. I'm truly happy when actors like Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston put their heart into a kids movie. It makes you appreciate them all the more and at the same time gives you great acting and a fun movie.Sky High is a 2005 American superhero comedy film directed by Mike Mitchell and written by Paul Hernandez and Kim Possible creators Robert Schooley and Mark McCorkle. The film stars Michael Angarano, Danielle Panabaker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kelly Preston and Kurt Russell. It also features Bruce Campbell, Cloris Leachman, Jim Rash, Steven Strait, Lynda Carter, Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald. It tells the story of Will Stronghold, the son of two superheroes who is enrolled in an airborne high school for teenage superheroes, where his powers kick in; he must deal with a growing distance from his old friends, a threat from mysterious supervillain and get the girl of his dreams.

The film owes its success in large part to its cast. The adults in the film were mostly played by established names like Kurt Russell, Kelly Preston, and Bruce Campbell, but the real talent on display came from the young actors playing the students. After the film, some left acting for other pursuits, some continued working for years, and others stepped right into the cultural zeitgeist. Here's what happened to the cast of "Sky High." Who could forget Magenta, the shapeshifter that can only become a guinea pig? Kelly Vitz's character in "Sky High" had one of the most memorable powers and definitely the most memorable hair style. Magenta was put on the sidekick track with the film's other protagonists, and she helped to prove that anyone, no matter their powers, has the opportunity to be a hero.Kelly Preston as Josie Stronghold/Jetstream: Will's mother, Josie Stronghold, a successful real estate agent. As Jetstream, she uses the power of supersonic flight and is touted as being an expert in hand-to-hand combat. (Source: disney.fandom.com)
