Silver Diner

A local favorite, Silver Diner has been cooking up exceptional food since 1983. We’re here to serve you and make your day the best it can be!

I have worked for The Silver Diner twice now. I moved out of a decent driving range the first time. The management is amazing and they want you to always have a great day, and work hard. You're going to be on your feet most of your shift, but fast pace, busy day makes it go by quickly. The staff really makes a family, and we care a lot of each other. They take care of their employees!

I haven't worked here in a few years and my location eventually closed so this probably isn't the same at all the diners, but mine had a lot of slower days so it was hard to make decent money. The tips weren't great either, but that's not the company's fault. Lots of rules, like having to check on the table a certain number of times, taking the menu and actually flipping through it to show them things, etc. (Source: www.indeed.com)

Founded in 1989, the Rockville-based company marries classic American road trip food with contemporary trends of farm-sourcing and flexitarian cooking. It has exploded with 18 locations across Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey. Although D.C. doesn’t have a Silver Diner, the company operates Silver, — its upscale, brasserie-style spinoff — in upper Northwest’s Cathedral Heights neighborhood. Silver Diner made its first foray into Alexandria last year, and another NoVa location is en route to Ashburn this summer.

The Silver Diner sign was recently mounted on the art deco tower over the entrance. The restaurant is going up next to the CVS drugstore at the southeast corner of LoCo Parkway and Russell Branch Parkway. It’s part of the slowly developing Commonwealth Center that includes the nearby iFly and Topgolf facilities and the upcoming XCAL Shooting Sports & Fitness club. (Source: www.theburn.com)
