Resume

It is important to highlight your military experience, skills and accomplishments that are most relevant to the job you are seeking. However, be sure to demilitarize your resume by marketing your experience, skills and accomplishments as they apply to the civilian workforce. As you begin to create your resume, it is important to use language that a hiring manager will understand. A good strategy to utilize for this task can be found at: www.onetonline.org/crosswalk/MOC/.

Students/alumni may schedule a telephone or virtual appointment to meet with a Career Center staff member to have a rough draft of a resumé reviewed. Appointments are scheduled via Handshake. We encourage you to make an appointment at least two weeks prior to the date that you need your resume. Review the video, samples, Basic Resume Review Checklist, and then e-mail a draft of your resume, as an attachment, to resumes@clarion.edu. (Source: www.clarion.edu)

Job

Fill in the template with your personal information and work history. Remember, these are templates, so they won’t necessarily fit your exact circumstances, just use them as a guideline of what to include and how format it. Feel free to add any additional information you feel separates you from other candidates (I.e. Military History, Volunteer experience, additional COMPLETED educational experience, unrelated certifications or awards from previous jobs/education)
