Miami Heat

The Miami Heat is already attracting a lot of attention for this year's City Edition uniforms, which seeks to unite all of the team's other uniforms into one, it seems. The Miami Heat are traditionally the undisputed heavyweight champions of alternate basketball jerseys. Over the years, the Heat have always been the leader in best annual one-off looks, but the true knockout punches commenced in 2017 when Miami unveiled and sold more of its 'Vice' jerseys than the City Edition uniforms of all other 29 NBA teams combined. It might be too soon to alert the authorities, but someone please tell Micky Arison. It seems someone has taken the Miami Heat hostage, and the City of Miami needs to pay between $21 million and $22 million for their safe. Predictably, the Miami Heat are being dragged on social media. It's not the best marketing when the collective first thought fans have when looking at your new merchandise is: kidnapping.

Michael McCullough, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Miami Heat, recalls sitting in the Las Vegas airport one evening in January 2018. He had just come from the NBA’s annual retail and licensing meetings and was anxiously waiting to see how people would react to the franchise’s new uniform. “That was a key moment of the Vice uniforms that was unique. To me, it was one of the highlights of my career. D-Wade … he is the Miami Heat. So it was nice to see that name and number hanging again … to see the guy come home and return in that uniform.” When the Miami Heat leave the court at AmericanAirlines Arena after their regular-season home finale against the Philadelphia 76ers, Vice Nights, ViceWave, Sunset Vice, ViceVersa and even the initial edition, simply known as Vice, will become part of the team’s uniform lore. With teams slowly unveiling their new city edition jerseys, Miami Heat recently unveiled their new and vibrant Vice uniform. A complete 360 degree turn from their previous work, this jersey comes in vibrant pastel pink and blue shades. "Fit for the future," the Heat wrote on Twitter, indicating that the jersey will be a mood. (Source: www.republicworld.com)
