If the job description doesn’t explicitly state they are seeking a team player, consider doing more research into the job and see if they’re likely to want a team player anyway. Some jobs, such as a software developer or project manager, are often done in teams even if the job description doesn’t say it. If your search reveals that the job duties are done in a team environment, it will likely be beneficial to list team player skills on your resume.
Your ability to articulate your teamwork skills and experiences will be a vital element on your resume. Prospective employers will usually want to see examples of effective teamwork and ask you about your teamwork experiences, skills, knowledge and abilities around teamwork when they are considering you for a job. For example, if the job you are applying for involves working with lots of people, highlight a project where you have worked with new people and show how you helped to build positive communication on that project.
In addition, if you have ever received any form of recognition for your teamwork skills make sure you share that in your resume. If you have ever received a team member award, led or had a team leader position, took the lead and coordinated a project, or have been given a special team role, make sure you share those examples on your resume.
