FutureStarrGeorgia Tech Colors OR
Some colors are real head-scratchers. Who can tell red from orange? How about green and blue? In Georgia, we have one of the best ways to figure out if a particular color is the same or different: our colors.
These colors complement the Georgia Tech brand colors and are intended as visual accents. This evolved color palette, with its bold and bright tertiary colors, offers a more optimistic people-centered tone. These colors may be used as 100% solids or screened back (tints). See below the swatches for additional guidance on proper use of tertiary colors.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is the name used for all of the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), located in Atlanta, Georgia. The teams have also been nicknamed the Ramblin' Wreck, Engineers, Blacksmiths, and Golden Tornado. There are eight men's and seven women's teams that compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athletics and the Football Bowl Subdivision. Georgia Tech is a member of the Coastal Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference. (Source: en.wikipedia.org)
The Yellow Jackets have won a total of 15 conference titles. They won 5 SIAA titles in 1916, 1917, 1918, 1920, and 1921; 3 Southern Conference titles in 1922, 1927, and 1928; 5 SEC titles in 1939, 1943, 1944, 1951, 1952, and the 1990, 1998 and 2009 ACC championships along with the 2006 ACC Coastal Division Championship. Paul Johnson and Georgia Tech won the 2009 ACC Championship in Tampa Florida. The team has played in 35 bowl games, posting a record of 22–13. The resulting win percentage of 0.629 is currently the second-highest among teams with over 20 bowl appearances.
None of these changes are really major, which leads me to believe that once the uniforms are unveiled, we aren’t going to see anything wild or crazy from the Yellow Jackets. Still, you have to imagine that any school would be thrilled to switch from Russell Athletics to Adidas at this point, so there’s still a palpable amount of excitement when it comes to seeing what Adidas will have in store for Georgia Tech when it comes to their uniforms and other athletic gear.
