Our Mission: The primary mission of Future Stars Basketball Camp is to provide today’s basketball player with the fundamentals needed to succeed in today’s game. The focus of Future Stars is, and always will be, on the individual camper. Through individual drills and team competition, Future Stars will provide each camper with an opportunity to enhance their overall basketball skills.

The founder of Foothill Hoops Basketball, Jonathan served at the Sports Coordinator for the Crescenta-Canada YMCA from 1997-2000 and coordinated the CCY's Summer Basketball program through 2002. While Jonathan was at the CCY, the “Y-Winners” program was the largest youth basketball program in Southern California (over 600 players per season from 98-00). He also helped to create and develop the YMCA’s Jr. High Basketball program. From 2000 - 2002, he served as League Director for Craig Impelman’s LCMG Basketball Camps (formally known as John Wooden Camp) in Pasadena and as the basketball instructor for GUSD’s M.E.P. Jonathan has experience with kids of all ages: he coached the first ever “Dribblers” (ages 4-5) team in 2003, first 14u Flyers Travel Team in 2004, the first Foothill Hoops High School team in 2005, and first “Rookies” (age 3) team in 2006. His educational background includes work in developmental and sports psychology, and he holds degrees in Theatre, Psychology, and a minor in Sports Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Acting from Brandeis University in Boston. While at UCSB, Jonathan worked as a certified official for local high school and AAU tournament games. Jonathan, a credentialed teacher (grades K-12), also holds certifications as a personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Equinox Fitness Training Institute, as well as a Group Fitness certification from Mad Dogg Athletics. In 2005, Jonathan moved to New York City to pursue professional acting and worked part time as a coach and director for the “Kids in Sports” program, where he established and designed their 1st-4th grade basketball courses. He currently resides in Austin, TX with his wife and daughter, working as an actor and director and travels to California often. (Source: foothillhoops.org)
