Future Football Stars 2018

On this page, you will be able to find all of the best young football players in Europe and talk more about what makes them stand out. On this page, we present the best players for 2018 for Spain. This is a list that we update quarterly. What’s important to remember is that this list is based purely on talent and potential. What you see here is that some of these players are starting to blossom, but some are mere potential that has yet to develop.

Signed by Atletico Madrid as the second-most expensive teenager in world football when he joined from Benfica for €126m two years ago, he took a full season to fully adapt to Spanish football (let alone Diego Simeone's demanding brand of football). The Portugal international started the season off well and enjoyed a particularly productive spell during the late autumn, though his impact has tailed off somewhat recently. That said, the second striker or "false No. 9" remains one of the top crowd-pleasers in La Liga and one of the most talented young forwards around. He has risen two places from 10th last year.

Those talented quarterbacks mentioned above will also have their pick of weapons to throw the ball to on the outside with some truly special receivers and tight ends. Cajuan Smith (6’3, 171 lbs.) looks like he could be a number one receiver at a major SEC program in a few years and could emerge as the favorite target of the quarterbacks on the roster. Two other receivers who look as if they could be difference makers are Jeremy Trebbles and Zahir Turner. Trebbles, who made the Future Stars team as a defensive back last year, plays with a swagger and toughness about him that makes him appear much bigger than 5’9 and 147 pounds. Turner is a speedster that uses his quickness to get open and may have an advantage after playing with Chatarius Atwell during the regular season. At the tight end position the only natural tight end on the roster is an elite one in Herman McCray. McCray is a big body at 6’4 and 175 pounds that looks like he should be playing college football in a few years. As is the case with a lot of youth football receivers and tight ends, McCray wasn’t utilized to his potential throughout the last few seasons but look for him to turn it up on the high school level. Another 18-year-old young talent, who can guarantee Barcelona’s bright future. Despite being just 18, the Canary Islander has been amazing in the Spanish midfield and was fairly recognised by UEFA. Pedri has been named best young player at EURO 2020, since he had spectacular tournament. And instead of having a rest ahead of 2021/22 season, he proudly represented his country at Tokyo 2020 and won a silver medal. Unbeliavably talented guy!
