Cynthia Pokemon

Cynthia Pokemon is the first in a series of children’s books by Cynthia Sabban in which Sabban uses her love of elephants to teach kids about the importance of protecting animal habitats. In the first book, Cynthia the Elephant, Sabban tells the story of the elephant’s golden year.

Game

Many of them have easy weaknesses to exploit, but speed becomes the name of the game because her Pokémon will counter you if you try to exploit their weaknesses. Between Milotic knowing Ice Beam (because of course it does) and Gastrodon knowing Sludge Bomb, Cynthia is an annoying fight. Cynthia's character is heavily inspired by the Greek goddess Artemis. Artemis was born on Mount Cynthus, which might be where Cynthia's name comes from. According to the game, Cynthia has some events that are related to the goddess of virtue: Cynthia gives the player character a Togepi Egg in Pokémon Platinum and also witnesses the birth of an egg in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver's Arceus event, while the goddess symbolized childbirth in the myths; Cynthia surrounded by some female friends in Pokémon Black and White represents the goddess' role as a protector of women; and the goddess was a skillful hunter in the wilderness while Cynthia is skillful at Pokémon battling. It's time to take on the Champion... Cynthia! And boy is she tough. Cynthia is famously known as one of, if not the toughest Champion in any Pokémon game, and that still rings true for her here. Her Pokémon are noticably higher level than the others, all of them have perfect IV spreads (their stats are super high) and perfect distribution of EVs making them even higher, along with complementary held items, natures, and lots of Full Restores that she can whip out just when you think you've won it.There's still loads to see and do in Sinnoh, including exploring the Grand Underground, as well as the lengthy post-game. It's the end of our walkthrough though, so a big thank you for reading this far, and have fun with the rest of your playthrough! Remember we still have plenty of other relevant guides over in our main Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl walkthrough hub, too. Bye!

Cynthia has a reputation for being one of the hardest Pokémon League Champion fights across all of the main series Pokémon games—and her appearance in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is no exception. Her team is composed of all the Pokémon she had in the original Diamond and Pearl, but they’ve got new moves and held items that take them to the next level. The best way to go about defeating Gastrodon is to play the long game. A Grass and Poison-type status inflictor like Roserade is a good way to outlast Gastrodon. While Cynthia might be able to heal status conditions with Full Restores, a Pokémon with Toxic can just poison Gastrodon over and over again. (Pure Poison-types should watch out for Earthquake, though.) A Roserade’s strong Grass-type moves can deal a lot of damage to Gastrodon and its dual typing means it doesn’t have to worry about Sludge Bomb. Gastrodon will likely take a while to defeat, so play it slow and be patient. While Steel-types don’t have a lot of STAB-capable offensive moves at their disposal, they do have a type resistance to all of Spiritomb’s moves. Try tossing out a Scizor or Steelix to at least stall while you heal your other Pokemon. Use some of the game’s strongest moves, like Flamethrower, Giga Drain, and Hydro Pump, against Spiritomb to wear down its HP and be prepared to spend at least a few turns healing. You can also try employing combos and tricks of your own with held items and move combinations to get the upper hand. Finally, while it might seem obvious, it’s still worth mentioning that you can always grind out a few more levels in Victory Road to have a small boost in power over Cynthia.
