For budget gaming headsets, Corsair recently introduced a selection of options. The HS55 Stereo, HS80 RGB USB and the HS65 Wireless all offer decent audio quality and comfortable comfort at an unbeatable price point.
These gaming headsets are comfortable enough for extended sessions, boasting a lightweight design that doesn't pinch your head. Plus, they have low latency connectivity through a wired USB connection and offer Dolby 7.1 virtual surround sound.
If you're searching for an uncomplicated gaming headset that's compatible with Windows and MacOS computers, mobile devices and most game consoles, the Corsair HS65 Wireless is an ideal option. It provides a comfortable fit, superior audio quality and straightforward connectivity to make connecting to your favorite games a breeze.
The HS65 Surround offers an amazingly balanced sound in both games and music, with crystal-clear mids, bright trebles and controlled bass that doesn't overwhelm.
Though not as detailed or powerful as some of its rivals, the HS65 Surround's sound is still impressive and should satisfy most listeners. The 7.1 surround soundscape is convincing and can be adjusted using the software iCUE which allows you to modify equalization levels, microphone volume and voice prompts accordingly.
iCUE also allows for the use of Sonarworks' SoundID technology, which can assist in locating other players in shooters like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. While I wasn't as impressed by this advancement when using headphones that feature Dolby Atmos sound quality, it was still impressive nonetheless.
It's worth noting that the HS65 Surround has a non-removable mic, which may pose an issue if you plan on using the headset while traveling or at work.
One of the great features of this headset is its light and compact design, weighing only 275g (about 10oz) when fully charged. You won't even know you're wearing it since both its headband and ear pads are comfortable to wear.
You can connect the HS65 to your PC or console using either 3.5mm jack and USB adapter, or use its included USB 2.4GHz wireless dongle. Either way, it is compatible with most modern gaming systems and devices - making it an excellent option for gamers on a budget.
The HS65 headset comes in a range of colors, from black to white. Its silver accents sparkle under the light for a premium appearance and feel very sturdy; not flimsy at all. Furthermore, its comfortable design makes it an excellent choice if you want great sounding headphones at an affordable price point. So if budgeting is your goal, the HS65 makes for an excellent choice.
The Corsair HS65 Wireless is one of the most comfortable headsets I've used recently, and its weight of just 275g makes it even more appealing. The ear pads themselves are made from plush leatherette memory foam and the headband has been cushioned and well designed to provide a secure fit.
Aside from its lightweight design, the most impressive aspect of the HS65 is its impressive battery life - more than enough for my usual gaming sessions. Additionally, it features an integrated wireless 2.4GHz dongle and quick charge type-C port which, as its name implies, delivers six hours of juice in just 15 minutes!
With this handy gadget, I was able to play an hour of Call of Duty: Black Ops II at maximum settings without needing an external power source. Furthermore, the HS65 also boasts an intelligent mic which adjusts volume and tone according to your inputs as well as a customizable EQ profile. This easy-to-use EQ works based on an algorithm that takes into account headphones output, wireless capabilities of the gadget in question, plus software predefined parameters for optimal experience.
The HS65 Wireless gaming headset from Corsair is one of the company's top selling models and it features both Bluetooth and low-latency 2.4GHz connectivity, making it easy to connect your headset to various devices such as laptops, smartphones and consoles. Furthermore, this model boasts an impressive wireless range - likely enough to cover most rooms easily.
This wireless connection is powered by two 50mm Neodymium drivers that can deliver up to 7.1 surround sound and include an omnidirectional microphone for improved audio quality and comfort. The headset features a comfortable ear cup and lightweight aluminum housing that can be customized to fit the user's head shape perfectly.
It features a volume wheel that doubles as an EQ select button, mic mute button and power button - all intuitive for controlling music, games and voice chat with ease.
The HS65 Wireless headset features Dolby 7.1 surround sound, making it easier to identify enemies and avatars in games like Apex Legends or Battlefield 1. Plus, its flexible microphone boom located on the left ear cup works great for gaming too.
The HS65 Wireless boasts impressive battery life, boasting 24 hours on a single charge and fast charging via Type-C port that allows up to six charges in 15 minutes - providing plenty of juice for an extended day of gaming.
The HS65 Wireless offers an impressive wireless range, boasting a claimed maximum range of 50 feet. Furthermore, its microphone sensitivity is quite high so you won't have any difficulty hearing your teammates in loud environments.
Finally, the HS65 Wireless offers excellent sound quality with plenty of bass and explosions, giving background music's low drums more body than most wireless gaming headphones available today. All in all, this makes the HS65 Wireless an exceptional wireless gaming headset that should be at the top of your wish list.
Corsair's HS65 Wireless is one of their top-performing wireless headsets, making it a great option if you need high-quality gaming headset with plenty of connectivity options. It has impressive audio performance that can rival some top-end wired gaming headsets on the market and boasts a durable metal design. Making this headset ideal for those seeking comfortable, affordable and reliable gaming gear that won't break the bank is certainly worth considering!
Corsair's HS65 Wireless Headset offers superior sound quality at a great price point, offering 50mm neodymium drivers that create an audio signature reminiscent of high-end headphones when set at just the right volume.
The HS65 Wireless is compatible with Windows PCs, Macs and gaming consoles such as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, it supports Dolby 7.1 surround sound which divides incoming sound into eight channels and adjusts each channel's volume accordingly.
With this setting enabled, the HS65 Wireless's sound is impressive, with plenty of energy and power in both midrange and highs. Furthermore, it doesn't sound too sloppy in bass terms, allowing explosions and gunfire to come through with plenty of rumble and strength.
This sound quality is further enhanced by the headset's omnidirectional flip-to-mute microphone, which can be used for recording gameplay or voice chat. It's Discord certified and boasts impressive sensitivity despite its low impedance rating.
The design of the HS65 Wireless is similar to its wired counterpart, featuring an all-plastic body and muted black finish on both ear cups. It's comfortable to wear and weighs only 9.95 ounces - which is quite light for a pair of headphones.
As expected, the headset's cable is 3.5mm jack and fits into most devices that use this type of connection. At six feet long, it provides strong signal even when placed close to a computer or TV.
However, I would have preferred the design of the HS65 Wireless to be slightly different. The ear cups are shallower than I'd hoped and not quite as comfortable as those on other wireless gaming headsets that feature more cushioning.
Another feature I would have appreciated seeing in the design was a mute button similar to the HS65's flip-to-mute microphone. This could have made the experience simpler and more intuitive overall.
