Comedy Show Miami was a unique and creative experience with a perfect fan-base in Miami. Sketch and variety are becoming more mainstream so they were looking for something different. They found something different in selling out two of their first three shows. All the ingredients that make this kind of hilarious comedy-satire different are that it has content that’s unique and relatable and the intimacy of the venue. They’re the full package.
Fan's of Chicago-style improv will rejoice when they learn of the Villain Theater, a fast-growing comedy club that's truly changing the face of Miami comedy. Started by Peter Mir and Jeff Quintana, the theater is both a performance space and a house of learning. Though only open for about a year now, it has already proven itself as one of the best places in town to catch sketch comedy from Thursday through Sunday, including their Saturday Gigantic shows that are just $5 (along with a full bar provided by Wynwood bar, Gramps). Whether you're coming in to take a class or sit in on for some laughs, know you're in especially good hands due to the fact that the founders themselves have experience performing with legendary locales like Upright Citizens Brigade, Groundlings, Second City, and Annoyance Theater.
What is it? The best place to get to know Miami’s new generation of comics and performers. Villain is the brainchild of an ambitious group of young improvisers who cover quite a bit of ground in their charming Little Haiti theater. Improv is the star of the show but you can also catch stand-up, musical improv and drag. What is it? These veterans of the Miami comedy scene have carved a comfy home for themselves in Coral Gables. The 98-seat theater hosts a weekly rotation of fresh improv troupes. Audience participation is encouraged—as is partaking in the full bar. (Source: www.timeout.com)
