Butler V Norton - Credit Hire Companies & Non-Party Costs Orders

In Butler v Norton, the Court of Appeal held that the credit hire company's refusal to accept claimant's full liability was a valid defense. A non-party-costs order which is a requirement, should be granted when a claimant has suffered substantial financial loss and is incapable of paying the credit hire. The ruling should also have significant impact on credit hire companies. Credit hire companies must be controlled to offer the best service.
