Bill Miller was born in 1940 in Bedford, Indiana. Bill's first taste of success came in 1963 when, at the age of 25, he was appointed Director of the US Mint. He served in this position from 1963-1969. He then took a break from government service to study at the University of Chicago, and after graduating got a job with the Household Finance Corporation (HFC). Later, he became their Executive Vice President and Managing Director. Bill was only 29 years old.
Bill Miller Bar-B-Q was a family business. Faye Miller served as a cashier and hostess while raising their four children. The children were raised learning the operations of the business. They later worked in the restaurant during the summers and on weekends. When Miller planned a vacation to Europe between Balous Miller's junior and senior years of college, Balous ran the restaurant business that summer and then decided to make Bill Miller Bar-B-Q his career rather than going to teaching school. Miller semi-retired upon Balous' graduation in May 1966. As his brothers, John and Douglas received their degrees, they joined him in the restaurant business. The three brothers and their brother-in-law, Louis Vance, have worked together for over thirty years.
The central office of Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, is located in downtown San Antonio adjacent to the San Antonio Police Department's former headquarters. The plant is built according to the U.S. Federal Government's meat-packing guidelines and is inspected routinely by the City of San Antonio and the State of Texas. Bill Miller Bar-B-Q owns all its own real estate and buildings and operates its own distribution center. (Source: en.wikipedia.org)
top of its unique charm and gorgeous interior and exterior, it offered on stop shop! Almost everything can be provided or rented through them! As a couple with two full time careers and a young daughter this was huge for us! I have to mention how gorgeous the rainy day option is. We really wanted to not have to worry about the weather considering anything can happen in New England. The outside garden is lovely and we are so thankful we had a sunny day, but if it was raining the indoor ceremony option was just as nice. Victoria was our wedding coordinator and was a champ through out the planning process; which included helping us get through delaying the wedding a year due to Covid. She made everything stress free and answered our many questions promptly and with patience. I cannot thank her enough for her help! The bridal suite is one of the amazing selling points for this place! Its absolutely worth the small up charge to be in one location with your ladies all day while everything gets set up around you. There was plenty of space for 2 hair stylists, 1 make up artist, 2 moms, 6 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and my daughter to all get ready! The food was amazing!! Everyone raved about it! We did buffet style and had the mashed potato bar which was a hit! And the lovely staff made sure the groom and I sat to eat which is often something that gets missed. I wouldn't do anything different. The day went perfectly and smoothly and that is no doubt due to Victoria and her teams effort! Even as my cake almost collapsed, Victoria and the staff was able to swiftly take care of it and save everyone's dessert!
dding day, answered questions at all hours of the day and night, and was on site for our wedding from 7:30AM through 10:30pm. I cannot thank Lisa and Victoria enough for all they did for us! The amount of guests at our wedding who stopped us to say how much they enjoyed the venue was too many to count- so many people said it was the best venue they'd ever attended a wedding at. We're hoping other people we know get married here so that we can come back!! If you are looking for a truly individual wedding that people will be talking about for years to come, Bill Miller's should be at the top of your list! (Source: www.theknot.com)
