The company operates three core lines of protection: Norton, LifeLock, and Symantec. The company’s flagship product, Norton 360, offers a personal account manager and a complete list of benefits, including online and event-driven alerts, which allow users to know when something goes wrong.

These days, identity theft protection strategies and tools are important ways to help protect your Social Security number and other personal information. A stolen identity can cost you money and time as you may have to hire professionals and work with credit bureaus to clear your good name. Identity thieves can use your information to open fraudulent credit card accounts that can show up on your credit report and hurt your credit score. By just monitoring your credit, you could miss certain identity threats.

Some years ago, Norton, Webroot, and a few others settled on 25GB as the amount of backup storage to offer along with a security suite. A serious backup plan requires way more storage than that. I’m glad to see Norton offering more. At the most expensive level, Norton comes with 500GB of storage. That’s still not up to what you get with a dedicated online backup service, but it’s closer. For example, Editors' Choice IDrive costs $79.50 per year and gives consumers 5TB of hosted storage, for use on unlimited devices. True, that's 10 times Norton's storage, but it's 200 times Norton's long-ago 25GB limit. (Source: www.pcmag.com)

Lifelock offers several tiers of coverage to help protect your identity. These include LifeLock Select with Norton 360, LifeLock Advantage with Norton 360 and LifeLock Ultimate Plus with Norton 360. You can also choose a standard plan that comes without Norton 360 software, but since the price is the same as the LifeLock Select with Norton 360 option, there’s no reason to go without. After all, Norton 360 can be downloaded to your computer as well as other devices you have (i.e. your smartphone, tablets, etc.). Just keep in mind that the LifeLock Select with Norton 360 option renews at a higher plan price after the first year. (Source:

LifeLock also comes with the added benefit of Norton 360 antivirus software with most of their plans, which can be immensely helpful if you want additional protection for all of your devices. However, Identity Guard plans start at a lower price point and even their highest tier plan is less expensive per month. All Identity Guard plans also come with up to $1 million in broad identity theft insurance, whereas the basic LifeLock plan separates out its coverage with only $25,000 in reimbursement for stolen funds, $25,000 in personal expense compensation coverage and up to $1 million in coverage for lawyers and experts.
