Grand Forks Public Schools offer a number of opportunities to all students of the elementary, middle, and high schools to participate in the academic and athletic programs. The programs are intended to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of the participants. Students within Grand Forks Public Schools are encouraged to participate in academic, athletic, volunteer, and additional leadership opportunities.

Students can participate in many intramural and interschool activities. The intramural activities include bowling, soccer, swimming, basketball, floor hockey, cheerleading, and flag football. The middle schools play each other as well as other area schools in sports programs such as cross country, football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track. There are also numerous academic programs offered to students, including Student Council, Mathcounts, Spelling Bee, Geography Olympiad, music and drama programs. (Source: www.gfschools.org)

Congratulations to the Varsity Football team for their big Homecoming win Friday night against Airport High School on senior night. We are so proud of your efforts. It was great to have our Cat Band on the field and in the stands, and thanks to our amazing student section for showing up in force. Congratulations to our senior football players and families, along with our senior athletic trainers. Thank you for all you have given to our programs!

Also on August 4, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., we invite all new students and incoming freshmen to our Wildcat Welcome for team building, orientation to high school, MacBook pick up, and lots of fun! Starting LHS is an exciting transition but can cause some nervousness. We want to set all of our students up for success and answer a lot of questions before the first day of school. No worries if you can’t make it - we will still make the transition easy for everyone. We have created a Wildcat Welcome website with useful tips, modules, and messages to help all of our new Wildcats get ready for the year. Check it out: https://tinyurl.com/WildcatWelcome2021. Your success is our goal! (Source: www.lexington1.net)
