After Georgia acquired the property through a land swap with Atlanta, the Foundation set out to transform the course into something that honors Bobby Jones' dedication to community, family and golf. Their vision is to turn it into an inspiring showcase of his vision for golf in all its glory.

The foundation is working hard to make this course as beautiful as possible, while also being mindful of its environmental impact. During the redesign process, some mature trees were cut down - some in good condition included!

Due to the destruction, many residents have expressed concern for the health of trees surrounding the course. Some even asked the Bobby Jones Golf Course Foundation to plant more trees in place of what was lost, since replacing what was lost would require thousands more.

On the other hand, the Foundation's plans to re-design the course in an environmentally friendly manner have been warmly received by many. This new layout will include Bob Cupp's revolutionary reversible golf course, as well as a cutting-edge practice facility and programming to promote golf among amateurs.

The Murray Golf House, the new clubhouse at Bobby Jones Golf Course, exudes modern sophistication with a touch of nostalgia. It was designed by students from SCAD Atlanta.
