Updated NBA ThreePoint Contest Participants List

The NBA has released the list of participants for the 3-Point Contest, to be held during NBA All-Star Weekend. This four-round competition tests players' dribbling, passing and shooting skills.

This year's tournament offers an exciting mix of young players and veteran stars - we'll see who can make the most of this chance to shine!

Donovan Mitchell

The 2017 NBA Three-Point Contest Participants List has been released, and it promises to be an exciting field. Some of the league's top players will be competing for the championship, providing fans with some of sport's greatest shots.

Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz is among eight players selected for this year's competition, including Boston's Jayson Tatum, Portland's Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons, Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield, Miami's Tyler Herro and Sacramento's Kevin Huerter.

Markkanen has been the Jazz's top shooter this season, averaging 24.9 points per game and making 41.3% of his three-point attempts. Additionally, he's on an impressive shooting streak, hitting a 3-pointer in each of his last 45 games.

Mitchell has been one of the top players in the NBA this season and his 3-point shooting has been a key component. Averaging over 200 three-pointers each season since 2016, it comes as no shock that he was considered one of the top candidates to compete at this year's contest.

Mitchell has been an impressive asset to Cleveland's backcourt this season, averaging 28.4 points and shooting 42.1% from three-point range. Additionally, he's served as an inspirational leader alongside Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley - helping form what could be their cornerstone group for years to come.

Luke Kennard

Luke Kennard is one of the NBA's most gifted three-point shooters and currently boasts the second best 3P% shooting percentage for the Los Angeles Clippers. A former Franklin High School standout, Kennard boasts impressive credentials.

On Saturday, the NBA All-Star weekend began with a 3-point contest and skills challenge that was televised on TNT and featured several All-Star participants including Luke Kennard.

The updated NBA Three-Point Contest Participants List indicates that several young players will be participating in this year's edition. These include Zach LaVine, Desmond Bane, Karl-Anthony Towns, Fred VanVleet, CJ McCollum, Patty Mills and Trae Young.

All the finalists are highly talented and have been shooting the ball well this season. However, the biggest question remains whether these players can put together a consistent performance in this contest.

It's understandable why players would want to participate in the competition; it provides them with an opportunity to display their skill and boost confidence before their next game.

Kennard had been eager to be part of this momentous occasion for a long time. As an excellent 3-point shooter, his dream is to return to the All-Star Games in the future.

He has a good chance at accomplishing this goal, as his average scoring rate this season has been 11.8 points and 44.8 percent from three-point range.

Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard is a basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers. He was selected in the 2012 NBA draft and has become one of the most beloved stars in the league ever since. A talented point guard, Lillard stands out due to his knack for making long three-pointers and scoring crucial shots during crucial moments.

He is an excellent defender, capable of blocking out opponents. Additionally, his motor allows him to quickly get his teammates in rhythm. Over the last month he has been on an incredible run with 36.9 points, 7.4 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.

On January 21, 2020, he tied his career high in points with 61 against Golden State and was highly effective from deep, hitting 4 of 9 attempts for an average of 12 points per game.

Aside from his impressive play, he is also renowned for his leadership and sportsmanship. He has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Special Olympics Spread the Word to End Word campaign, frequently speaking to young children about respect and how to treat others with dignity.

Damian Lillard is one of the NBA's most talented players and always ready to contribute. This season he was an integral part of the Trail Blazers' success, earning himself six NBA All-Star selections and cementing himself as one of the league's top point guards. Additionally, fans have given him his nickname - "Dame Time" - and earned him over $193 million in professional earnings throughout his professional career.

Buddy Hield

Hield is one of the NBA's premier 3-point shooters and having a phenomenal season. He averages 16.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game with an impressive shooting percentage (42.3%).

He's a top-20 defender and has two steals in his past two games, demonstrating his ability to be an impactful defensive player despite being heavily dependent on scoring. While it won't be possible for him to produce at that level every game, it's worth watching his progress closely.

Buddy Hield is one of eight participants in the NBA All-Star Three Point Contest. He joins Jayson Tatum, Kevin Huerter, Tyler Herro, Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard as fellow champions.

The NBA Three-Point Contest Participants List is filled with star power, including Boston's Jayson Tatum, Sacramento's Kevin Huerter, Miami's Tyler Herro, Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield, Portland's Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons as well as Utah's Lauri Markkanen.

On All-Star Saturday night from Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, the league's premier exhibition of shooting skill will take place. Competitors will compete against each other and history to take home the championship trophy and be crowned champions of the tournament. This year's lineup includes both emerging snipers as well as veteran snipers looking to make their mark on the sport - making this year's competition a must-watch event!

Danny Green

The NBA Three-Point Contest Participants List has been revealed, featuring an exciting array of stars. Fans from around the league are competing for a championship title, providing plenty of thrilling entertainment to enjoy.

Some of the names listed here may be familiar, while others will be fresh off the radar due to an injury, recent relocation to a new team or simply beginning their professional journey. It will be fascinating to see what transpires next in each case.

On Friday, Gerald Green was traded from Memphis Grizzlies to Houston Rockets. As a backup wing on an exciting team, it remains uncertain when or if he will make his debut with them this season.

As a 14-year veteran, Green is an ideal catch-and-shoot option for teams that struggle with their shooting. He still has it in him to be an invaluable role player as a spot player.

Fantasy owners searching for a reliable backup scorer might consider Green in Cleveland's final stretch of the season. However, he won't be a major contributor to their second unit and outside of deeper leagues his minutes will likely be limited.

Despite the addition of Green, the Cavaliers remain a work in progress. They have just started with a new head coach and coaching staff, so it will take some time before Green can assume his regular role.

Joe Harris

The NBA has released the updated Participants List for the NBA Three-Point Contest, and while superstar Stephen Curry won't be participating this month, there is plenty of talent on display. This group includes some of the league's best three-point shooters; we will have to wait until All-Star Saturday Night to find out who will take home the prize!

Joe Harris has a well-deserved reputation as one of the league's premier three-point shooters, and this year he'll get to test those skills in the three-point contest. A former Cleveland Cavaliers player who spent nine seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, Harris will have plenty of chances to show off his talents this season.

Harris originally committed to Washington State before choosing Virginia as his college destination. Throughout his high school career, Harris set numerous records and ended as the all-time leading scorer in Washington Class 1A.

After transferring to the University of Virginia, Harris helped the Cavaliers reach the 2014 ACC tournament. He remains a reliable three-point shooter who continues to improve with each season.

The three-point contest is an integral part of All-Star weekend, and this year eight players will compete for their first title. These include Karl Anthony-Towns, Fred VanVleet, CJ McCollum, Zach LaVine, Patty Mills, Luke Kennard and Trae Young - all first time competitors in this year's competition.
