Milwaukee Bucks could sign Goran Dragic as soon as Friday

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Milwaukee Bucks could sign veteran point guard Goran Dragic as soon as Friday. The veteran point guard had recently been waived by the Chicago Bulls.

Milwaukee franchise has long been linked to Slovenian guard Mirza Telekovic. If true, his presence would be a huge boost for their team as they seek to build around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports

Addition of a veteran point guard to the lineup would only strengthen the Bucks' chances of making it to the NBA title game. They currently have 16 straight victories and have overtaken Boston Celtics for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. A veteran point guard would provide more depth behind Jrue Holiday and Jevon Carter - both averaging over 20 minutes per night.

Today, Dragic, who was released by the San Antonio Spurs this week, will visit with the Milwaukee Bucks to discuss a potential signing. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, they "have emerged as front-runners" for the 36-year-old Slovenian.

The former All-Star spent the first half of this season with the Chicago Bulls, playing 51 games and averaging 6.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per contest. Unfortunately, his playing time has steadily decreased since February; ultimately leading to his release by the Bulls on Friday.

Wojnarowski reports that several teams are interested in signing Dragic, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors. However, Wojnarowski states that the Bucks have been most persistent in their pursuit of signing Dragic.

If the Bucks sign Dragic, he's likely to receive a long-term deal. The former All-Star is eager to play in the NBA championship race and could be an invaluable addition to Milwaukee.

He's been in the league for 14 years and has played for six different teams. His best seasons came during his time with Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

Dragic has grown into a reserve role during his 14th season. While he's never won a championship, his versatility and experience can benefit any team.

Dragic, a potential buyout candidate, is searching for an opportunity to prove he's still an NBA star. His declining playing time with the Bulls and knee injury could provide him with an opportunity to regain his former form.

A veteran point guard would provide stability to the Bucks, who could use their remaining roster spot for a player who can contribute in playoffs. He'd fit well alongside Jrue Holiday (21 points per game) and Jevon Carter (eight games played this season).

Wojnarowski: “The Bucks have emerged as front-runners”

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Milwaukee Bucks have emerged as front-runners to sign former All-Star guard Goran Dragic. The 36-year-old will make a visit to Bucks country on Friday and Wojnarowski suggests an agreement could be reached as early as tomorrow morning.

The Bucks have won 16 straight games and are the top team in the East. Their roster features stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday; with Dragic added to their lineup this season it seems likely they can make a deep playoff run this year.

The Milwaukee Bucks have built a reputation for acquiring high-flying talent at all positions, so it should come as no shock that they have invested in the buyout market several times. And they did so expertly, landing stars like James Harden and Paul George without going over budget. Plus, there are other players making the most of their opportunities like All-Stars Khris Middleton and Jae Crowder. It won't be long until this team makes that leap from contending to contender - the only question being where they'll find those missing pieces.

Wojnarowski: “Dragic is visiting the Bucks”

Since their last playoff appearance in 2015, the Milwaukee Bucks have been searching for a star player. One popular target has been former Celtics point guard Goran Dragic. If recent trade involving F/C Meyers Leonard is any indication, another significant addition could be in store when all is said and done.

Although there's no assurance the Bucks will sign their namesake in this uncertain landscape, a deal that brings together the best elements of both teams could prove to be the winning formula. That player could well be 36-year-old Dragic who fits the buyout bill perfectly if he stays healthy and receives an appropriate incentive package. Whether this means signing a multi-year contract or being the odd man out on a two-way agreement is yet to be determined - however it certainly seems possible!

Wojnarowski: “Dragic could sign with the Bucks as soon as Friday”

Recently, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Milwaukee Bucks may sign Goran Dragic as early as Friday. According to this report, Milwaukee is in need of guard depth and Dragic would be an ideal addition for their team.

The Bucks are one of the top teams in the NBA when it comes to 3-point shooting, and Dragic has earned a reputation as an impressive shooter from beyond the arc. He could be an ideal addition for Milwaukee and help enhance Giannis Antetokounmpo's offensive game.

Dragic has averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game throughout his career. As a seasoned veteran, he can play an important role both on the court and in the locker room to help the Bucks increase their chances of winning another championship.

Dragic's postseason record and ability to assume leadership roles quickly with teams make him the perfect addition for the Bucks as they seek to make a deep playoff run this year. With him at their side, Dragic can provide them with exactly what they need in order to maximize their chances of success.

Dragic hasn't played as often this season with the Raptors, but he is expected to make an immediate impact on his new squad in San Antonio, bringing with him an abundance of experience. Hopefully he can help his new squad finish strong and add some offensive firepower in a Western Conference full of strong teams.

If the Bulls can secure Dragic's services, they would gain an experienced player who can take over offensive duties when Lonzo Ball returns and contributes more. Furthermore, Dragic is a proven shot-blocker and has been an impressive presence on defense for most of his career.

In addition to the advantages listed, Dragic's veteran leadership and experience could be an immense asset to Chicago's young core. He can assist Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso in learning how to play together as teammates - which is essential for their future success.

The Chicago Bulls are currently sitting atop the Eastern Conference with a 22-8 record, holding an advantage of three games over Boston Celtics for home court advantage in playoffs. Already boasting plenty of talent on their roster, adding another veteran who can complement Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso will help this team reach its ultimate goal of competing for a championship soon.
