FutureStarrThe Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Gameplay Review 2023
Nintendo recently unveiled "roughly 10 minutes" of gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, suggesting that this sequel will build upon some of the best elements from Breath of the Wild and expand upon them.
Although this footage isn't a full reveal, it does provide us with our first proper look at some of Link's new abilities. These will revolutionize Hyrule in ways never seen before and give players the ability to take control of their journeys around the world.
Today, Nintendo released a gameplay video to showcase some of the exciting changes coming to Link in The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. Game producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrated various aspects of gameplay such as refined combat systems, weapon crafting, vehicle building through puzzle mechanics and Hyrule's transition from sky to land areas.
Link will gain the Fuse ability, which allows him to combine items to make powerful weapons. For instance, he could fuse a rock and tree branch together for an enhanced stick with greater durability than before. Or he can fuse items onto his shield for enhanced homing arrows or elemental materials with increased power and range.
Link can upgrade his bow by fusing items together, which allow him to fire arrows or launch homing bombs. With these weapon upgrades, Link will also be able to construct flying machines out of scrap materials found around the world.
It all takes place against a backdrop of vast open landscapes and floating islands in the sky above Hyrule, which seems to be an integral part of the game's narrative. This marked a drastic change from Breath of the Wild, where players could not fly anywhere within Hyrule - making this concept for a sequel particularly intriguing.
There has been much speculation online as to how this game will unfold, with many suggesting it'll be darker than its predecessor which earned an E10+ rating from the ESRB. However, it has now been confirmed that no blood or violence will be present in this title.
Within only 44 days, fans will once again see Link soar through the skies above Hyrule in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. Today, Nintendo gave fans their first look at the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild with a gameplay demonstration video.
In the video below, series producer Eiji Aonuma introduces us to some exciting new elements in the upcoming game. These include the return of paragliders and weapon durability systems, as well as an all-new enemy type called a Construct.
The teaser trailer also revealed a brand-new weapon: Zonai Charge. This item can be collected after defeating the Construct and provides insight into their story arc, which seems to continue in this new Zelda adventure.
Another key part of the trailer is how Link's Master Sword appears broken and covered in some mysterious degraded evil. This could indicate that Link has lost some of his signature sword's power and must recover it throughout gameplay.
Additionally, it could also be a clue as to how weapons in the game degrade and break over time - something we have heard rumors about for months now. Either way, it could be one of the most intriguing elements in the game.
It's worth remembering that The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the first game in the franchise to introduce motion controls. Released simultaneously on GameCube and Wii, it set an excellent example of how motion controls could be implemented into a Zelda game while maintaining its realistic art style which still captures many players' attention today.
The Legend of Zelda series boasts an intriguing cast of characters that appear throughout its games. Each has their own distinct personalities, histories and goals that make them captivating to learn about.
Link, the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda series, is a young man driven by an intense desire to save Hyrule and Princess Zelda from Ganon. He wears a green tunic that he has come to cherish over time and possesses various weapons with which he can battle enemies.
Link wield a powerful sword to battle against the evil forces threatening Hyrule. In order to conquer these creatures, Link had better have the courage and strength to rely on both his own skills as well as those of his friends.
In addition to Link, other important characters in the game include Fairy Queen, Brahne and Tetra's Pirate Crew. These individuals provide Link with hints and guidance when he needs it most.
Another significant character in the game is Link's grandmother. She loves Link and his quest, even when she becomes ill towards the end. When Link visits her during gameplay, she gifts him his green tunic and shield, plus makes him his favorite soup when he returns home.
She offers Link many helpful items and hints throughout the game that can be used to further his adventure. She is knowledgeable about The Legend of Zelda, particularly regarding Triforce shards - something Link desperately desires to acquire.
In addition to the main cast of characters, there are other unique creatures featured in the games. Some are exclusive to each title while others can only be found within certain titles of a series.
Zelda fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Breath of the Wild's sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Originally scheduled to hit stores in 2022, Nintendo decided to postpone it due to world-altering events that have occurred since then.
When we got a glimpse of it, it was truly thrilling. Link could ride a horse and scale mountains as well as glide through the skies in his aircraft, creating vehicles to get around. It truly demonstrated his amazing capabilities!
Link's new abilities, Fuse and Ultrahand, were unveiled. These powers allow players to alter the world's items and physics in ways never seen before in the series.
Fuse is an intriguing ability in an open world game, as it allows users to use multiple items simultaneously. This opens the door for trick shots and speed runs with just one object!
Similarly, Ultrahand allows players to combine two objects together to form a new item - effectively expanding the sandbox that has become so commonplace in open world titles over time.
Beyond these new additions, it appears that the world of Tears of the Kingdom will share many similarities to Hyrule. Previous trailers have shown us both its expansive landscape as well as an entire world of islands floating above it.
It appears this game will take place in a world similar to Breath of the Wild, yet with darker undertones. We can only imagine how tense it must be for Link as he traverses Hyrule's vast landscape.
Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is the follow-up to Breath of the Wild, one of 2017's most successful games. Following its success, Nintendo appears to be keeping true to its core ethos with this new installment.
The game is expected to introduce an array of new mechanics, such as traveling across Hyrule's sky islands and fusing objects together to craft weapons. Additionally, it will refine existing combat systems with improved system design along with numerous puzzle-based vehicle building options.
Recent gameplay showcases have showcased some of the new features in Breath of the Wild. Eiji Aonuma, its producer, demonstrated Link's enhanced abilities which build upon his existing traversal and combat skillsets.
These new abilities include Recall, which rewinds object movement; weapon fusing, which creates new weapons from combining items; and Ultrahand, enabling Link to climb and traverse ceilings - particularly useful when traveling to the sky islands as revealed by a recent patent.
Though most of these abilities were first revealed in March's gameplay demo, this latest demonstration offers us more clarity about their potential use. These new abilities can be used for rewinding objects, fusing them together and even climbing through ceilings - providing Link with essential tools as he ventures through Hyrule's vast skies.
Although it remains uncertain how many of these new abilities will make their way into the final game, some of these abilities could prove immensely helpful when navigating the map and others could shape Link's character in unexpected ways.
