The Impact of Cardi B's $4M Lawsuit on Tasha K's BankruptcyCardi B recently secured a $4 Million-dollar defamation judgment against YouTube vlogger Tasha K, accusing her of spreading false allegations that she was using cocaine, selling her body for sexual work and contracting herpes and HPV. Now in court documents filed this month by Cardi, Cardi wants a judge to order Tasha to cease making defamatory comments against her permanently. Tasha K’s Bankruptcy Case Cardi B recently won a $4 Million lawsuit against Tasha K for defamation, alleging the vlogger made false allegations about being an escort and using hard drugs, leading her to endure emotional distress as well as strain her relationship with Offset. Following Tasha K's loss of her case and subsequent bankruptcy filing, collection efforts by Cardi B's team are in effect against her. Tasha recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which allows individuals and businesses to remain solvent while gradually repaying creditors over time. Part of her filing required listing assets and liabilities; Tasha provided documents revealing she currently had only $95 in her bank account at this point in time. Cardi B has ramped up their efforts against Tasha K in recent months. Their legal team has sent subpoenas to both her bank account and Google - where Tasha makes money through YouTube videos - demanding payment in full for what she owes the rapper - though she has managed to collect some thousands. Unfortunately, she still owes millions owing. Tasha has filed for bankruptcy with assets totaling approximately $58,000 and liabilities estimated at around $1 million; she also reportedly holds more than this in safe deposit boxes. Tasha's financial problems are well-documented; yet she continues to refuse an apology for defaming Cardi B. Had she simply offered to retract defamatory statements instead of resorting to legal battles and incurring substantial debt, the legal drama could have been prevented and debt relieved much faster. Tasha K's bankruptcy filing marks yet another chapter in her longstanding feud with Cardi B. She has been accused of racism, bigotry and sexism for her public attacks against Cardi; Tasha's public attacks against her daughter even induced panic attacks! Although her family have supported her during this difficult period, Tasha has experienced her career becoming damaged while quality of life deteriorates significantly - it remains uncertain when Tasha will end her feud but perhaps cutting down on inflammatory rhetoric could help her keep job and remain sane! Tasha K’s Legal Defense Cardi B was awarded a $4 Million defamation verdict against blogger Tasha K in her defamation lawsuit in January 2022. A jury awarded her the money for statements made about Cardi in numerous YouTube videos made by Tasha, such as that she was prostituted, used drugs, contracted sexually transmitted diseases and contracted prostituted. Tasha claimed she wasn't responsible for what Cardi's fans were doing against her but the court declined summary judgment in this regard. Tasha K, also known by her legal name of Latasha Kebe, attempted to appeal her initial ruling claiming the jury was presented with "unfair evidence." Unfortunately, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit denied her request for a new trial on Tuesday; as per court reasoning she failed to make her argument before trial judge and thus forfeited her appeals rights. At the time of her original ruling, Kebe pledged that she would fight it all the way up to the Supreme Court if necessary. Recently however, the judge informed her that either she must pay her judgment in full or post a bond covering its amount while her appeal is under consideration. Though she lost her appeal, Tasha K is still fighting the $4 million judgment to Cardi B. On Tuesday she shared an edited picture of herself dressed up as McDonald's employee on Instagram with the caption: "#TashaKGetsAJOB." She claims she does not have enough funds available to her for payment of this judgement and asks the public for donations towards this cause. Cardi B has filed another appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals in Georgia in hopes that it will overturn the original verdict and suspend her sentence. If that fails to happen, her lawyers could garnish her paychecks and seize her assets - such as her home, cars and personal assets - to cover Cardi's legal costs and other expenses associated with her ongoing court battle against Tasha K. Tasha K’s Settlement Cardi B is determined not to let Tasha K get away with her $4 Million defamation judgement and took an important step on Thursday by filing a writ of execution against Tasha and Kebe Studios LLC in Georgia. Tasha K (real name Latasha Transrina Kebe) was hit with an enormous verdict back in 2022 after she was found liable for defamation and invasion of privacy for her malicious smear campaign against Cardi B. According to reports, she falsely claimed she had herpes, used beer bottles as sexual devices, engaged in prostitution, abused cocaine, etc. She was accused of falsely alleging Cardi had herpes, used beer bottles sexually as sexual devices, engaged in prostitution as well as engaging in prostitution activities among other allegations against Cardi B - among many more allegations against her. Tasha attempted to appeal the verdict but was unsuccessful. Her initial appellate brief alleged Judge Ray withheld important evidence from jurors and that her trial had been unfair; furthermore she contended that court orders compelling her to pay or secure an appropriate bond covering all aspects of judgment were unenforceable and should be overruled. However, last month the federal appeals court ruled against Tasha and it became official that she owed Cardi $4 Million in damages. This decision is significant as civil judgments typically cannot be discharged through bankruptcy and she could now face an extended legal battle to settle these debts. Tasha has not kept quiet about her struggle to pay the judgment, either. In one now-deleted Instagram post, she suggested she'd relocated to Africa as an attempt at dodging payments owed her by YouTube; even sharing a video showing herself there and saying she was eager for a "fresh start." Whether Tasha stays there or returns back home soon thereafter, her YouTube checks may never reach her bank account anytime soon. Tasha K’s Appeal Cardi B filed suit against Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe) for what her attorneys described as her malicious campaign on social media and YouTube, accusing Tasha of falsely alleging she had an STD, performed sexual acts with beer bottles on stripper stages, was prostitute, cheated on her husband, used hard drugs etc. Her attorney filed the case successfully in 2022 against Tasha and won her $4 Million as compensation, with Tasha forbidden to make similar allegations again against Cardi. Tasha K was recently denied her appeal of the ruling, with a federal appeals court finding that she failed to preserve evidence and presented arguments that were either unsubstantiated or speculative. Since this decision has come down she has made no public statements regarding it. Tasha K is now facing bankruptcy following her recent court loss, according to The Neighborhood Talk. As per this form of debt relief, which allows debtors to propose plans of reorganization that could keep their business alive while gradually paying creditors back, Tasha K filed Chapter 11 yesterday and revealed only having $95 in her bank account as part of this filing. Tasha K has yet to disclose her plans for paying back Cardi the outstanding money she owes her, although her lawyers have begun garnishing vlogger Tasha K's social media checks, though those won't do much toward covering the $4 million debt owed her by Cardi. Tasha K may opt to appeal her case all the way up to the Supreme Court; however, since this high court only hears a small percentage of cases sent their way, it's unlikely any justices would find any justification to take on hers. As a result, Tasha will likely continue struggling financially until being forced to pay up her $4 million judgment and remain relevant in media circles. This process may be painful at first but eventually it must become part of life if she wants to remain relevant and effective as an influencer or spokesperson.
