Raider investors are investors that purchase large stakes in undervalued companies and pressure the management to take actions which increase shareholder value. Although raiders tend to be disliked by company managers, they have the power to influence capital market outcomes.

Today's companies have several strategies in place to thwart raiders from taking control of their business and disassembling it. These include shareholders' rights plans (poison pills), staggered boards of directors, and debt-funded share buybacks.

The Raiders are dedicated to building relationships with their community. They offer a range of services and opportunities for residents to enjoy. Furthermore, they support numerous charities and non-profit organizations that benefit this region.

Strawder is well-known to Las Vegas hip-hop heads as the founder and manager of D-Blocc Records, founded in 2007. He has produced and mentored artists like Shock G and Mr. Cheecks, as well as creating one of hip-hop's classic albums: "Shot of the Moon".

Strawder has faced many hardships throughout his life, despite his successes. He was raised in a dysfunctional family and had to contend with an eccentric stepfather who seemed to possess both qualities simultaneously. Ultimately, it proved beneficial for Strawder's career to find happiness elsewhere.

He described being regularly abused, and losing both of his parents when they were younger. Yet he never gave up; he went on to college, earn a degree in mental health, and start a nonprofit to assist children.

Some years back, he even made a movie! "Checkmate: The Movie" premiered at the Las Vegas Black Film Festival in April and featured several high-tech elements like robotic acrobats, diamonds in the rough and other futuristic toys.

His many accomplishments include being the first in Las Vegas to build a working astronomical telescope and patenting an augmented reality device to help students learn science and math concepts. Furthermore, he collaborated with partners like Las Vegas Valley Museum of Art and Nevada Partners on an award-winning backpack program which provided 400 bags to students in need.

Nevada Reading Week

As part of Nevada Reading Week, the Raiders joined several local schools and front office personnel to read to students. Throughout this week, educators across Nevada are encouraging literacy and celebrating its benefits.

This week-long celebration includes book fairs, author visits and literary readings by renowned authors and librarians. These activities are designed to foster a lifelong love of reading among PK-12 students and their families. Education specialists from Nevada's Department of Education, libraries and public librarians collaborate on programming.

This year's reading theme is "Catch the Reading Wave," encouraging students to choose books that appeal to their interests. Additionally, educators and illustrators are placing an emphasis on diversity and representation in books and covers so all students have access to stories featuring people like themselves.

On Wednesday, Raiders running back Kenyan Drake and punter AJ Cole visited classrooms in North Las Vegas to read the book "The Couch Potato." The players engaged the students by answering questions and emphasizing the value of reading for pleasure and taking time to appreciate things outside your comfort zone.

McCall Elementary School students had the unique opportunity to experience magic firsthand thanks to Mac King during Nevada Reading Week. Not only did they learn about various tricks, but they could also ask him questions and get advice from him.

Strawder, better known by his stage name Vegas Don, had been a rapper for over two decades before turning his attention towards making movies. His debut feature film "Checkmate: Tha Movie," premiered April 27 at the Las Vegas Black Film Festival and drew inspiration from his experiences growing up in Las Vegas - especially its streets.

He is a former drug dealer and gang member who said his struggles with substances, women, and the music industry eventually led to his recovery. Now he uses his experiences to educate young people about drug abuse and its devastating effects on their lives.

He also founded Taking Back the Blocc Inc., a nonprofit that provides children with clothing and school supplies. Graduating this month with an associate's degree in mental health services, he hopes to help underprivileged kids avoid experiencing the same hardships he did. By inspiring others, he wants to demonstrate that it's possible to achieve your dreams if you're willing to take the necessary steps.

Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

On Black History Month, the Raiders and Intermountain Health hosted an event that highlighted mental health resources available in the Black community. Participants attended an informative panel discussion, took part in activities and learned about suicide prevention initiatives.

Robert Strawder is an entrepreneur, artist and activist who lost his mother to suicide and has battled with mental health issues. Through his story, Robert shows us that even when life presents us with difficulties, it's possible to overcome them.

Strawder has dedicated himself to raising awareness and educating others about mental health. His desire to help those in need, combined with his own childhood struggles with an abusive mother and stepfather, have inspired him to make a difference in the world.

His mission is to inspire others with hope and purpose in their life. He believes that everyone has the capacity to lead an enriching, healthy, and productive existence.

Suicide is the leading cause of death among youth and young adults in America. While there is no one-size-fits-all reason for suicide, those who consider it often suffer from clinical depression, anxiety issues and substance use problems. If you notice these warning signs in someone you care about, seek immediate assistance.

One of the best things you can do for someone who is struggling is to open up and discuss their feelings with them. This may seem like a small gesture, but it has the potential to have an immense effect.

Detroit Today: Dream Hampton Talks Hip-Hop's Evolution Its Misogyny Problem

Detroit is a city of people and places, trends and events. It also houses many influential artists and creators.

Dream Hampton, a filmmaker, writer and producer renowned for her work on hip-hop culture, recently released a short film exploring water and memory in Detroit.

She has dedicated her career to uncovering misogyny in hip-hop culture and has become an advocate for women. We recently had the honor of having her join us at our studios to discuss her work and the evolution of hip-hop.

What Is Hip-Hop?

Hip-hop is a cultural movement that began in the 1970s when African American and Puerto Rican youth from the Bronx began connecting. It quickly gained worldwide popularity, inspiring numerous rappers and groups to emerge.

Rap music evolved in the United States, and women rappers joined it. At first their lyrics contained derogatory remarks directed at women; however, as time passed and they gained control over their art form, their lyrics evolved.

Misogyny in hip-hop is a complex issue that arises from multiple sources. These include fragile male egos, accepted gender roles and double standards; it also stems from a culture that values money, power and control over women.

However, it's essential to recognize that there is no single answer as to why some rappers may be misogynistic. Every artist is unique and there are no predefined guidelines as to how they should address this issue in their music.

Some rappers, like Slick Rick, can maintain a level of self-deprecation and humor while still expressing their misogynistic views. Conversely, others such as Nas have had much greater difficulty with this balance.

Dream Hampton, a renowned rapper, took to her personal Tumblr blog to express her views on hip-hop culture. In the post, she expressed that she is fed up with all of the misogynist attacks she has received due to her work.

Chamberlain noted that hip-hop often fosters sexism due to a culture that puts men in positions of power over women. She added that it can be challenging for women to break into this environment.

Even when female rappers do make it big in the hip-hop industry, they are typically associated with men who act as props instead of independent artists. While this gives them financial security to perform, it can also stifle their creativity and self-expression.

Although it can be challenging to alter the way hip-hop is portrayed, it's essential for addressing misogyny. Rap's sexism can have detrimental effects on young girls who listen to it and even lead to violence against women.

How Has Hip-Hop Changed?

Hip hop has evolved over the years into an expansive industry, featuring iconic artists like Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Nas, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and many more.

The genre has grown beyond its Bronx roots and now encompasses Los Angeles as well. In the '80s and '90s, there were numerous political rap songs that addressed issues of gang violence and police brutality; these songs proved controversial to society while serving to raise awareness about these issues.

Over the last decade, there have been significant advancements in music genre. More artists are releasing mixtapes and albums than ever before, which has allowed them to gain followers and create more music.

Additionally, the environment that artists live in has an effect on how they create music. Young children living in urban areas typically have access to more resources for creating art, which allows their work to have greater impact.

Hip-hop has evolved over time by including more female MCs. These MCs have helped shape the culture of rap and made it more female friendly.

What Is the Misogyny Proble in Hip-Hop?

The hip-hop genre is often accused of misogyny due to the prevalence of derogatory terms against women such as 'bitches', 'hoes' and 'chickenheads' (Adams & Fuller, 2006).

Researchers Gourdine and Lemmons note that "rap music" is the most popular form of youth listening, meaning it has a significant impact on how young people think about women. As such, researchers predict an increased prevalence of misogynistic lyrics from rappers.

However, there are some rap songs that do not mention or promote any negative images of women at all. These powerful messages should not be lumped in with their misogynistic counterparts as they serve different purposes and can be an excellent vehicle to foster positive changes within society.

McFarland's study revealed that most rap songs depict women as objects of domination for men. This implies they are seen as inferior, intellectually lacking and sexual objects. Furthermore, women are typically depicted as violent and committing crimes against their partners.

This study indicates that some feminists opt not to listen to rap music with sexist lyrics out of doctrinal conviction. They hold that such music impedes the progress towards gender equality.

What is the Future of Hip-Hop?

As the music industry continues to progress and diversify, artists are exploring new styles of hip hop. Some even fuse it with other genres like EDM or jazz - a trend which could continue into 2020 and beyond.

One of the most significant impacts of hip-hop on people's lives is its confidence booster, self-esteem boost and strength to speak up about issues they are dealing with.

Music can have a positive effect on society as well. People using it to express their emotions and open up conversations that otherwise wouldn't take place. Furthermore, music could serve as therapy for those struggling with mental health issues.

Music can also help boost a person's fitness levels. It does this by burning calories and increasing oxygen to the brain. Furthermore, music helps relieve stress, lower blood pressure, and promote overall wellness.

Another reason music can be so influential is its capacity for connecting people from diverse backgrounds. We see this firsthand when musicians make connections with their fans and foster emotional bonds that have lasting significance.

Hip-hop artists often express personal experiences through their songs, which can be immensely motivating for fans and inspire them to keep striving for greater success in life.

As the music industry continues to develop and progress, it will be interesting to observe how this impacts hip-hop's future. Just like other genres of music, hip-hop may not be around forever.

Music that was popular in the past will likely be replaced with a more contemporary style, much like jazz music was replaced by rock music.

Though its future may not be what everyone expects, hip-hop remains an integral part of our culture. It has a profound effect on people's lives and can be an incredibly powerful form of art. Not only that, but it's also an excellent outlet for self expression and helping others; not to mention an excellent excuse to get out and move!
