Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - New Trailer Reveals Final Adventure

Marvel superheroes are coming together once again in a new trailer that showcases Peter Quill and his friends on one final mission. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are all back for one last adventure with Captain Marvel!

Director James Gunn has promised the third movie will be "quite intense" as the gang searches for Gamora. Additionally, it introduces Marvel Universe's newest hero, Adam Warlock.

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy cast rallied around him when his third movie almost didn't happen. Though Gunn was fired over ten-year-old tweets that were considered inappropriate, he ultimately returned to complete his trilogy plan.

On the 2023 Super Bowl, Marvel released a trailer that teased the final installment in their beloved team's saga. Chris Pratt's Peter Quill/Star-Lord was seen reunited with Gamora, who was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but returned in an alternate time period in Avengers: Endgame.

Gamora as she appears in the new movie has no memory of Star-Lord or his gang, so her return is not particularly sentimental. Instead, she seeks revenge against Peacemaker (Chukwudi Iwuji), the high-evolutionary who created her in the original movie.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how this version of the character interacts with Peter and the rest of the Guardians. Additionally, the trailer teases a new relationship for Mantis (Pom Klementieff), as well as Nebula (Karen Gillan).

Finally, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is scheduled for release on May 5th 2023 and can also be streamed on Disney+. Following that, there will be a holiday special in fall 2022.

Zoe Saldana

On the eve of Super Bowl LVII, Marvel released a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, their third installment that follows Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his band of misfits as their world is threatened by events from Rocket Raccoon's past.

James Gunn will direct the movie, which stars Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff and Vin Diesel. It is set for release on May 5th 2023.

In the trailer, Star-Lord and Gamora (who was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War) reunite. However, she has no memory of her past life. Together with fellow Guardians, they must fight against High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), a villain determined to create an ideal society at all costs.

Though most of the original cast will return, several new characters have been introduced into the movie. One such character, Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), will be played by Will Poulter and be encased in a gold cocoon for his major role in this movie.

Bradley Cooper

Six years have passed since the Guardians of the Galaxy team last starred in a solo film, and director James Gunn is returning with an epic finale with Vol 3. To mark this momentous occasion, Marvel Studios has released the new trailer for Vol 3 which highlights epic stakes, introduces High Evolutionary, Adam Warlock as a wildcard character, and suggests there may be romance developing between Star-Lord and Nebula.

Cooper, born and raised in Philadelphia, is a three-time Oscar nominee who starred in the films Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle (2013) and American Sniper (2014). Additionally he co-starred in Wedding Crashers (2005), Failure to Launch (2006), Yes Man (2008) and He's Just Not That into You (2009).

Before his film debut, Cooper was a New York-based actor who worked in the theater. His performance as The Elephant Man on Broadway earned him a Tony Award nomination.

Cooper achieved fame on J.J. Abrams' popular spy series Alias (2001-06) as Will Tippin, a journalist friend of covert agent Sydney Bristow. Following that role, Cooper pursued film work and appeared in Wet Hot American Summer (2001), Changing Lanes (2002) and My Little Eye (2002); however his breakthrough came with his role as Will Tippin on three seasons of Alias (3 seasons). Additionally he appeared in Wedding Crashers (2005), Failure to Launch (2006) and Yes Man (2008) before landing the lead role in Kitchen Confidential (2005-2006).

Karen Gillan

In the upcoming third film of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Guardians of the Galaxy series, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) leads a team that is still grieving over Gamora's loss. Their mission to find her poses a risk to not only them but all life on Earth; failure could spell the end for these Guardians forever if they cannot succeed.

The Super Bowl trailer, released during the game, showcased epic stakes, Rocket Raccoon's origin story (Bradley Cooper), new villain The High Evolutionary, potential romance between Star-Lord and Nebula, as well as Adam Warlock played by Will Poulter - all of which looked incredible. There's a lot to take in but it looks absolutely captivating!

James Gunn is back behind the camera for Vol. 3, originally scheduled to hit theaters in May 2020 but postponed two years due to other MCU projects.

On May 5, 2023, the third film in the series will hit theaters and mark Director James Gunn's last work before joining Warner Bros. to co-lead their DC Studios.

Dave Bautista

On May 5th, 2023, James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy - which has become one of Marvel's biggest hits - will hit theaters. Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova in leading roles - it promises to be another thrilling installment!

Bautista is a former WWE wrestler who was twice crowned World Heavyweight Champion and twice WWE Champion. Additionally, he holds the record for holding the WWE Championship for the longest period of time - 282 days.

He has been a prominent figure in the WWE since 2000 and starred on several television series such as "WWE SmackDown" (UPN/The CW/MyNetworkTV/Syfy/USA/Fox 1999-2010). On-screen appearances included Wrong Side of Town (2010), House of the Rising Sun (2011) and The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption (2012).

Bautista is best known for his role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, which has become a huge success and cemented him as one of Hollywood's most beloved characters. He is expected to return in future Marvel films too.

Will Poulter

Marvel Studios has learned that in filmmaking, who you hire is an important factor. Not only do you need someone with experience in your chosen domain, but someone with a sound mind as well.

When casting for the upcoming MCU threequel, Marvel didn't need to look far for its ideal candidate. British actor Will Poulter was cast as Adam Warlock - the cosmic character first teased in post-credits scenes of Vol. 2 and now a key protagonist in this final chapter of the MCU.

Before Poulter could start work on bringing Warlock to life, he had to go through an incredible transformation. Although this proved challenging at times, the end result was well worth the effort.

In the comics, Warlock is a galactic messiah who journeys the universe in search of spiritual peace. He's an enemy of Thanos - the Mad Titan who plans to take over the universe in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. However, in the MCU version, Gunn says he wants him to become a Guardian so it appears likely he'll become an ally in Vol. 3. Let's see how he looks in this new trailer!

Chukwudi Iwuji

James Gunn is set to direct Guardians 3 and revealed at Comic Con 2022 that the film had now been completed shooting.

He announced the addition of Chukwudi Iwuji from Peacemaker as the High Evolutionary. Additionally, Will Poulter would be returning as Adam Warlock and Maria Bakalova would star as Cosmo the Space Dog from Borat 2.

While we don't know much about the rest of the cast, Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord and Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as one of the Ravagers. The movie picks up where Avengers: Endgame left off, with Peter Quill (Pratt) and his team having lost Gamora but discovering one from a past timeline.

But there's still much work to be done for these characters. At the end of Vol. 2, Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) reveals her plan to create Adam - the most powerful and beautiful being ever created.

Finding an effective villain at this late stage in the game presents a formidable challenge. However, some potentials have emerged; Major Victory - a founding member of the Guardians from 1969 - stands as one potential contender.
