#LSU's #Morris #Reese #Shares #the #Love #After #Beating #UGA #in #Overtime
Morris Reese of LSU spread the love after she helped her team defeat UGA in overtime. She recorded her 21st double-double of the season with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Last season, Reese led the SEC in rebounding as a transfer from Maryland and ESPN named her as the nation's top impact transfer. She's now averaging 21.3 points and 14.3 rebounds per game.
After LSU's Morris Reese guided the Tigers to an 83-66 win against Georgia in the SEC tournament quarterfinals, she got into the spirit of things and sent a kind message to Georgia's Angel Reese, who remained frustrated throughout the game.
The Tigers (28-0) never wavered after a wild first quarter due to a weather delay that missed most of the second. Morris tied his season high of five 3-pointers and Flau'jae Johnson scored 21 points early on for an early lead.
Reese made six of her eight shots in the first half and finished with 15 points. She was credited with six rebounds but was removed after her fourth foul with 9:02 left to play. Unfortunately, Reese missed a pair of 3s as Georgia (18-11) pulled within three late in the second.
Her teammates stepped up to fill in, with LaDazhia Williams tying her career high with nine points and Jasmine Thomas adding six. On Saturday night, the Tigers (28-0) will face off against Tennessee Lady Vols in an SEC semifinal.
Reese has been painting professionally for 15 years, studying under some of the country's renowned landscape plein air painters. As a member of the American Plains Artists, Oil Painters of America and Outdoor Painters Society, he currently resides in Gordon, Georgia with his wife Anne where he focuses on oil paintings of West Texas and Big Bend areas. Reese also proudly grandfathers five grandchildren: Reese James Trulove; Zac O'Byrne Haine; Reagan Elizabeth Trulove; Samuel Morris Tweedy Haine and August Marcus Haine.
