When I call lancey foux

Lancey Foux is a rap artist, model and producer who describes his life as "a movie". After emerging from east London's underground scene, he's collaborated with Skepta and Kanye West while performing at Milan runway shows.

Foux's latest album, LIFE IN HELL, is his most experimental yet. Featuring guest appearances from Kaytranada and 070 Shake, this psychedelic trap journey is as inventive as it is lyrically.

1. He’s a rap artist

Lancey Foux has been dubbed a rap artist similar to Suzanne Collins' fictional protagonist in her best-selling fantasy novel "The Hunger Games." His mysterious Londoner name carries with it plenty of rumors and cryptic legends, creating an ardent fan base that spans nearly three years now. Not only that, but his music continues to sell out shows both on tour and back home in New York City where he regularly sells out shows.

Lancey Foux began his rap career when he was 16 years old, freestyling over YouTube beats in his bedroom. Through a friend he eventually got invited into a studio and released his debut album Pink in 2015; two weeks after its release he scored the local breakthrough hit "About It."

Lancey has taken his musical development seriously throughout the years. Between Pink's first and second editions, he collaborated with UK superproducer Nyge to add a cinematic twist to his trap sound.

Lancey Foux is a master of fusion, using futuristic and fast-paced beats to change up his style and topics while still delivering meaningful lines on an emotional level. It's truly unique style of rapping that most rappers lack the capacity to do; which has propelled him to the top of the industry.

His latest album Life in Hell, which recently dropped, takes his creative journey to a whole new level. Filled with spaced-out synths, abrasive 808s and otherworldly soundscapes, the record is an intense rollercoaster of emotion.

Life in Hell, despite its abundance of ethereal elements, is grounded by stoicism and an unwavering dedication to his own will. While his painted skin may evoke purple on stage, his spirituality lies deeper within a more regal shade of violet.

2. He’s a model

Lancey Foux has become a model, with his rockstar features and aesthetic reminiscent of Givenchy designer Matthew Williams. The rapper has become something of a fashion muse for 1017 ALYX 9SM and Givenchy, and his meteoric rise to success is testament to this.

He's a successful rap artist, having collaborated with Skepta and Kanye West and performed at some of the world's most renowned festivals. He serves as an inspirational role model to many young artists while building up British rap scene; however his success wasn't achieved easily.

Lancey began creating music at 16 in his bedroom with YouTube beats before meeting a friend who took him to the studio. Since then, his songs have been played on numerous radio stations around the world and have had an immense effect on fashion design.

His latest album PINK II (2018) is an exquisite blend of egotistic trap, new wave punk and ethereal moans and sounds created from pure emotion. The intricate sonic narrative it's built upon reads like a storybook with exciting turns and emotional cliffhangers.

He's never afraid to take risks and challenge the status quo, which sets him apart from other British rappers. His sound combines elements of grime, Atlanta trap, punk rock, drill and R&B melodies to create its own unique sound.

He's been modeling alongside his music career for several years, building up an impressive portfolio and loyal fan base. As a result, he's had numerous bookings and appearances, even walking the runway at London Fashion Week!

3. He’s a producer

Lancey Foux, 25, is an award-winning producer who began making music out of YouTube beats while still in his bedroom. Through a friend, he eventually ended up at the studio where his work has been showcased to major labels including 1017 ALYX 9SM and Givenchy designer Matthew Williams who chose him to be their look book main model for Spring/Summer 2021 collections. As well as being a fashion muse to both companies - 1017 ALYX 9SM and Givenchy - Folx has also served as fashion muse to 1017 ALYX 9SM and Givenchy designer Matthew Williams; they chose him to represent their Spring/Summer 2021 collections respectively.

He's a rapper with the attitude of a rock star and the physique of supermodel. Additionally, he draws inspiration from everything around him; thus, his music includes grime, drill, Atlanta trap music, and punk rock influences.

His latest album, Life in Hell, is an epic soundscape filled with poetic twists and turns. The 22-track narrative includes far-out samples and emotional cliffhangers.

On release day, Lancey invited fans to enter into his world of Life in Hell through a show at an abandoned synagogue on New York's Lower East Side. Papers bearing his lyrics littered the floor as demonic dancers patrolled its halls.

During our conversation, he was surprisingly candid about his career and artistic integrity. He cited The Art of War as an influence for his breakout record Friend or Foux and now he's drawn heavily from Stoicism for Life in Hell.

He's an incredibly talented rapper who continues to gain momentum in the music industry. With his unique creative vision, he has quickly become one of the most captivating artists currently active within it.

4. He’s a DJ

Lancey Foux is a DJ, someone who mixes recorded music for an audience. Their job requires selecting and mixing songs that will appeal to listeners; this requires knowledge of a DJ's track library as well as intuition to match songs to their tempos.

Lancey began creating music at age 16 by rapping over YouTube beats in his bedroom. This outlet for creativity enabled him to grow as an artist.

Lancey released several albums and projects over the years. Ultimately, his sophomore effort, Pink II, featured a feature from Grime legend Skepta on "Dyed 2WICE."

Lancey is taking things to the next level with his latest project FRIEND OR FOOUX, featuring some of his favorite artists - in addition to Skepta, this album also includes Clairo and Bakar.

Lancey's music is known for being gritty, dark and energetic. His lyrics are full of humorous phrases in a mix of grime and hip hop style. A native Londoner by birth, Lancey has quickly become one of the UK's most sought-after rap artists in recent years.

Lancey's most recent release, Life in Hell, is an expansive 22-track sonic narrative that blends far-out samples with poetic turns and emotional cliffhangers. When Lancey released it, he invited fans to experience the album by holding a show at a repurposed synagogue on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

5. He’s a photographer

Lancey Foux is fresh from Milan and just completed his appearance at the 1017 ALYX 9SM Autumn/Winter 2022 show. Additionally, he's on tour, promoting his first solo album Life in Hell - an eclectic journey filled with far-out samples and unexpected lyrical turns.

When not rapping, Foux finds time to create art and shoot his own music videos. His latest endeavor, directed by Olivia Rose, pays homage to sci-fi iconography and retro obsessions with extraterrestrials in an avant-garde promo that's refreshingly unique and futuristic.

Lancey's music can be quite energetic, yet in conversation he often appears calm and reflective. Whether discussing Stoicism or Chinese military tactics he learned while growing up, Lancey radiates an inner calm that comes from living according to his own rules. It's as if he's the "king of his own reality," radiating harmony from within himself that mirrors this fact.

From east London, this 26-year-old has made waves in both the rap scene and fashion world, working with Kanye West and Skepta while performing on Telfar's runway as a model. Additionally, he was recently announced as a Givenchy muse - an experience which appears to have helped shape his artistic vision.

His music often incorporates purple - the color of kings and clergy, symbolizing power and vulnerability. He's used it across six musical projects as well as on his most recent single, "Honest," which he says speaks to his own personal struggle with self-doubt and fear of being exposed.
