Joel Embid 76ers look to stay hot on road vs hobbled Hornets

This season, Embiid has been an impressive force for the Philadelphia 76ers. He leads the team in points, rebounds and assists while also serving as one of their best defenders.

On Wednesday night, Embiid scored 36 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers to lead his team to its sixth win in a row. Additionally, he had 18 rebounds and four blocks in the victory.

Embiid is averaging 36.8 points per game

The Philadelphia 76ers have won six of their last seven road games and look to extend that streak against the struggling Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Joel Embiid has been on fire this March, averaging 37 points per game in seven wins for Philadelphia; he will be one of the key figures in this series.

Embiid is a defensive player who doesn't give up easy rebounds, which is especially crucial when the 76ers face teams with explosive offenses like the Hornets. He currently ranks fifth in defensive rating and ranks among the top five for both blocks and steals.

In addition to his defensive prowess, Embiid has emerged as one of the NBA's most versatile players. He can attack the rim and score in the paint, plus shoot from beyond three points.

He's a major reason why the 76ers are averaging more than 113 points per game this season, and his leadership and maturity have enabled them to win big games. His average of 30.6 points and 11.7 rebounds would normally earn him MVP honors in most seasons.

As the 76ers prepare for this series, Embiid knows he must remain healthy in order to give his best performance. After missing three games due to a broken bone in his left eye, he hopes to return on the court before Saturday's contest.

Even when healthy, however, Embiid must never let up. His team cannot afford any mistakes against top-tier opponents and therefore needs to be more aggressive on defense - something which Embiid excels at.

Embiid also understands the Sixers must focus on reducing turnovers, which has been an issue this year. He committed three turnovers in the first quarter while Tyrese Maxey had two, leading directly to Cleveland's transition points.

Embiid has achieved unprecedented success with his free-throw rate, helping him become the most efficient player in that area. While it is unlikely that this great percentage will remain for ever, Embiid should continue to see improvement in this area in the near future.

Embiid is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game

After their 118-109 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers are on a 6-game winning streak. Joel Embiid has been one of the stars during this stretch, averaging 36.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.5 blocks per game while playing almost 35 minutes on court time.

Embiid's latest performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers was just as remarkable as his previous two, helping the 76ers move to a 4-1 record on their road trip. This win was particularly crucial for them, as they strive for a top-3 spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

On Wednesday night, Embiid led the 76ers with 36 points and added 18 rebounds, three assists and four blocks to help them defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-109. This marked Embiid's sixth 30-point game this season and sixth of his career.

He has become one of the more efficient three-point shooters in the NBA this season, averaging 3.1 attempts from long range - nearly half the number he attempted last season. This is encouraging news for Embiid who was criticized last season for his shooting range but only managed to improve on his fewest three-point attempts throughout his career.

Due to his improved shot selection, Embiid's scoring efficiency has increased from 28.2 points per game last season to 38.0 this year; his effective field goal percentage is at 54.1%; his free throw percentage is also a career high at 85.4%; and he's averaging 1.3 steals per game this season.

On Thursday night, Embiid will look to extend his hot streak as the Philadelphia 76ers travel to Charlotte to face off against a struggling Hornets squad. After winning six of their last seven games, the 76ers should be well-motivated to take this game against them.

In addition to his impressive offensive production, Embiid has been an incredible fantasy asset in 9-cat leagues this season. His points per game are tied for third best on the 76ers while his rebounding and assists are among the highest in the NBA. As a top-10 fantasy performer in both categories this month and likely to remain so throughout the remainder of the season.

Embiid is averaging 4.6 assists per game

If the Philadelphia 76ers want to contend for an Eastern Conference title this season, their big man Joel Embiid must stay healthy. After missing three games due to left foot soreness, Embiid is now listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against Detroit.

Embiid, who averages 33.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game this season, is the driving force of this team and must be at his peak performance when they embark on their long road trip through West Coast teams. For the 76ers to emerge from this difficult stretch on the right side of the playoff bracket, Embiid must have a huge night.

For the month of March, Embiid has been remarkable, scoring at least 30 points on 50% shooting in each of his six games while also collecting at least 10 rebounds each time.

Fantasy managers who own Embiid in 9-cat leagues should get an incredible value from him. He ranks as a top-6 player in those competitions and should be considered a top-3 option across most formats.

He's also averaging 1.3 steals per game this month, which is an invaluable statistic for fantasy players. Embiid is currently ranked 7th in steals on the Fantasy Basketball Research website and should remain there throughout the rest of the season.

For the 76ers to remain healthy and perform at their highest level during their next seven games, it's imperative that Embiid stays fit and performs at his peak level. He has been an incredible force this year, so they cannot afford any extended absence from him.

Embiid has had great success against the Charlotte Hornets this season, scoring 53 points in their most recent matchup. Now Embiid must produce huge numbers to help his team overcome a struggling Hornets squad that has lost four straight home games and will be without rookie center Mark Williams for the remainder of the campaign.

Embiid is averaging 1.3 steals per game

The 76ers have won six straight games and are within two games of the Celtics for second place in the East. Philadelphia will look to extend that streak against a struggling Hornets team that is averaging 61.9 points per game on home floors and has lost seven of their last nine overall.

Embiid has been the team leader in scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks this season and has also shown his dominance in the paint. On Sunday against Washington Embiid recorded 34 points (12-21 FGs, 0-3 3Pt, 10-12 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal over 31 minutes of play.

He has achieved more than 30% usage and a true shooting percentage near 67 percent - an amazing accomplishment in a league that typically rewards perimeter scorers with higher scoring percentages.

Embiid's offensive success this year is only half the story; his contributions off the court are just as important. He's among the league's best all-in-one players and his statistical profile remains consistent from game to game and season to season.

Embiid has missed nine games this season due to flu, knee recovery and a sprained left foot; however his team still goes 6-3 when he doesn't play - that's as many losses as LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Jokic have combined this season.

If Embiid plays, the Sixers hope to benefit from his presence, but even without him a win would be an impressive step in their pursuit of another deep playoff run. In an NBA where players' roles are often determined by how well they pass the ball off to other players, Embiid could prove crucial for this Philadelphia squad as they look to capitalize on his versatility and pass-catching prowess.

Embiid has been a consistent Defensive Player of the Year candidate this season, playing stellar defense on the perimeter to limit opponents to 73.6 points per 100 possessions - an amazing mark for him and an incredible feat for the 76ers, who boast one of the league's premier defensive frontcourts.

Embiid's 1.3 steals per game is an impressive statistic, which he's reached in just 57 games this season - his second full season playing more than 250 minutes. Only Steph Curry has achieved this milestone this early in his career; he had the same number of games to start a season back in 2015-16.
