GOOGLE TRANSLATE MAKES SOUP

Google Translate Makes Soup!

Google Translate has come a long way since its early rule-based translation algorithm. Nowadays, the company says they have much better contextual awareness to help users decipher local idioms and expressions.

Malinda Kathleen Reese's Twisted Translations series on YouTube takes popular songs and runs them through Google Translate until they barely resemble their original lyrics - hilarious results!

1. Google Translate Makes Soup

Google Translate is a great option for students or business owners in need of translation. Available in 103 languages, it has become used by more than 500 million people around the world, according to the company.

This web-based service can be accessed via browser or smartphone app. It supports voice commands, handwriting, and conversation mode; additionally, it works offline so there's no need for an internet connection required.

Google Translate not only can translate text, but it can also translate pictures. Simply tap on the image and a popup will appear with options to speak or type.

Though generally accurate, the service does have difficulty with polysemy (words with multiple meanings) and multiword expressions.

However, translation quality has been steadily improving recently. In 2016, it began using a sophisticated machine learning system called neural network learning that helps translators compare vast amounts of text from diverse sources and take context into account.

Though not perfect, this can be a helpful resource for students having trouble understanding English. Additionally, it's an ideal aid for educators wishing to incorporate a foreign language into the classroom setting.

2. Google Translate Sings

Google Translate is an online translator that not only offers written translations, but it also has a built-in conversation feature so you can communicate with people who don't speak English. Simply select the language of the person you're speaking to and tap on the Conversation icon on your phone's screen for assistance.

You can add words and phrases to your own personalized Phrasebook, helping you avoid using an incorrect word in conversation or writing documents. The app automatically saves translated text so you can refer back to it at a later date.

Google Translate has become widely known for its ability to translate a wide range of languages, yet it still needs improvement. The program can make mistakes, especially with polysemy (multiple meanings for one word) and multiword expressions.

Translating the French word vous into other languages gives it two distinct meanings: "you" and "by." While a computer could theoretically understand this distinction, relying solely on machine translation for accuracy should never be done.

Malinda Kathleen Reese is the creator of "Google Translate Sings" and "Translator Fails," two YouTube series where she takes popular songs and runs them through Google Translate multiple times until their lyrics barely resemble what was intended. She then performs these edited versions with hilarious results!

4. Google Translate Sings Harry Potter

Malinda Kathleen Reese's YouTube channel hosts the Twisted Translations series, in which she takes popular songs and runs them through Google Translate before re-translating them back to English and singing with the new lyrics. It's an amusing way for those who don't understand what the original lyrics mean to get a laugh out of them.

Some of the more innovative episodes include "Translator Fails MEETS SIRI!!" and an episode featuring Donald Trump's quotes and tweets translated by Google Translate. Other videos feature songs like Frozen's "Let It Go" and Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up."

Malinda often exaggerates her overacting and exudes some of Google Translate's more absurd lines, giving off the impression that she is singing from the heart. Other moments, like when asked to translate questions asked on Instagram, have more of a quiz show vibe to them.

Google Translate's translation skills, even without musicality, are impressive - particularly when it comes to handwriting. The app captures text through your phone's microphone and displays it on screen while also playing it back aloud. To use it, just select Enter text on the homepage; it will automatically detect what you write.

5. Google Translate Sings Rick Astley

Twisted Translations is a YouTube series created by Malinda Kathleen Reese that takes songs and runs their lyrics through Google Translate, then rewrites them in English until the results are barely recognizable from the originals.

It's an inspiring series that seamlessly blends humor with powerful messages. The main objective is to challenge viewers to reevaluate their own assumptions.

The songs in the series vary from song to song, but they all share one thing in common: humor! Although lyrics may be mistranscribed, each song's core message remains consistent.

This makes for a fun and entertaining video to watch. Plus, the song itself is extremely catchy - making you want to listen again and again.

Some things don't quite translate well with Google Translate, though. For instance, this video attempts to translate Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up," yet it sounds nothing like that at all - rather, it sounds remarkably similar to Nirvana's "Shape of You," making the translation all the funnier!

Other times, however, the translation may be inaccurate. For instance, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is mistranslated as "heart attack," yet Malinda appears at the end in her usual charming way.

6. Google Translate Sings Hellfire

Google Translate often creates fun medley videos. These videos typically consist of a popular song which is then translated into multiple languages by Google Translate and then performed live by the host and her guests.

The results are often dark and humorous. One such example is Google Translate's mistranslation of "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notredame into an almost unbelievable parody version that sounds too good to be true.

Malinda has performed medleys of popular songs before; these include renditions of the Frozen theme, Mary Poppins musical songs, and "T'was the Night Before Christmas."

Malinda stands out among other medley singers by reenacting her voice rather than simply singing to Google Translate. This gives her performance an intriguing edge, as she sings with greater conviction.

Malinda also has some humorous moments in this video, such as when she faints from a heart attack during "Total Eclipse of the Heart," yet quickly gets up and continues singing as if nothing ever happened.

Malinda often facespalms when her Google Translate translations of songs come out incorrect. For instance, she might sing something like "Mary makes your heart so light," when in reality it should read "Mary illuminates your eat." This can be quite annoying, but Malinda always does it with just enough exaggeration that it becomes almost comical.

7. Google Translate Sings 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Google Translate is an app that lets you translate text on your phone. Not only does it do written translations, but it can also understand speech. With this feature, you can even translate WhatsApp messages and other chats! To take advantage of this feature, open the application and select the microphone icon.

Begin by selecting the languages you wish to translate from and into. You can use the language buttons at the top to flip between languages or use the arrows at the bottom for changing them. Copy and paste this translation into another document or speech-to-text application such as WhatsApp for quick access.

Utilizing this app is a breeze, and it's free to download. Even better? You can even use it offline - an incredible convenience!

Malinda Kathleen Reese's YouTube channel Twisted Translations recently premiered the first episode of Google Translate Sings, featuring lyrics from Disney's Frozen. Malinda ran the song through Google Translate several times before performing it with its altered words.

Some of the results are hilarious, while others might make you reconsider how often you use Google Translate. Unfortunately, without human oversight, Google Translate can often translate a song incorrectly and completely misinterpret its meaning.
