For over a decade, The Daniels (Daniels is their film-making name) have been working together. They've created music videos, television episodes and two feature-length films: Swiss Army Man (2016) and Everything Everywhere All At Once 2022.

Their second feature film, Everything Everywhere All At Once, is an ambitious multiverse journey that seamlessly blends comedy, drama and sci-fi elements. io9 met up with directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert to discuss the movie's slow-burn success, how casting informed meta-narratives and what anime inspired one of their best works.

She is a model

Daniel Scheinert wife was known for her infectious energy and positive outlook. She demonstrated an admirable patience and selflessness towards her son Gio, while having a keen sense of style that made her ideal model. Additionally, Daniel Scheinert wife has always been up for a photo shoot or two!

She's an avid film buff and enjoys going to the theater to watch movies. Especially, she says that she enjoys watching blockbusters made by filmmakers who understand what young people are going through today.

In 2009, they began working together as teaching assistants at New York Film Academy summer camps, giving them the opportunity to make their own short film on a budget that would otherwise be prohibitively costly. Their clip, Swingers, became a Vimeo staff pick and spurred the two directors on to consider creating something larger-scale.

Their first feature together, Swiss Army Man, topped the box office charts and was quickly followed by Everything Everywhere All at Once - an even greater success! In fact, the duo has an exclusive five-year partnership with Universal Pictures that began back in 2010.

At Universal Studios, they are expected to produce another Oscar-worthy film soon. Their upcoming project has already earned several nominations and tells a classic tale of a Chinese immigrant who must connect with her parallel universe counterpart in order to prevent the multiverse from collapsing. It is scheduled for release on the big screen in 2022.

She is a singer

Daniel Scheinert wife can usually be found singing songs in her kitchen. Her favorite genre is pop, and she performs with The Happy Endings band. She's known for her bubbly personality as well as cooking and baking delicious treats!

Her passion for music began as a child, when her parents encouraged her to sing and play instruments. At eight years old, she started playing piano; later progressing onto other instruments like guitar, ukulele, bass and more. Now over ten years later she still performs regularly and has released multiple albums.

She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Oak Mountain Elementary and Middle Schools before enrolling in Shades Valley High School's musical theater program.

In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and going for a run. Additionally, she cherishes spending quality time with her pup Charlie.

Scheinert is a film director and screenwriter, as well as an actress and singer. Her debut film, Everything Everywhere All at Once (directed with her husband Dan Kwan), earned her nomination for an Oscar award in the Best Picture category.

Daniels, as they're commonly known, are renowned for their inventive music videos. Their 2014 video for Lil Jon and DJ Snake's "Turn Down For What" became one of YouTube's most viewed videos with over 1 billion views - becoming one of the most successful channels ever.

They are best known for co-writing and directing the 2016 film Swiss Army Man, which earned them an Oscar nomination. Recently, Universal Pictures announced a five-year exclusive feature partnership with them - an extremely rare deal for the studio.

For their latest film, they had to discover how to explain Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) that she is actually a multiverse traveler. The concept was straightforward enough, but it needed to be communicated in such an imaginative way that viewers could grasp why it was so incredible.

While rewriting that scene in an office hallway, Kwan reached out to Nine Days' lead singer John Hampson and asked if they could use some lines from their hit "All the Time." After listening carefully, Hampson agreed that these words would work perfectly for the film.

She is a dancer

After their successful film Swiss Army Man, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert -- better known as "the Daniels"--have become one of Hollywood's most sought-after director teams. From music videos and TV ads to shorts and features, the duo has had a storied career creating entertaining projects.

In their latest album, Everything Everywhere All at Once (A24), the duo ventures into the multiverse. It's an expansive and often disorienting place, but also one where creativity can flourish.

Since their meeting as Emerson College students, the concept of a multiverse has been central to their work. They began directing music videos for artists such as Foster the People and Tenacious D before teaming up to make some short films together on the side.

But it wasn't until their second feature that the Daniels truly found the balance of wit, whimsy and sincerity to take their brand of cinematic fantasy to new heights. In an age populated by blockbuster superhero franchises and neo-noir action flicks, the Daniels wanted to take their satiric surrealism to a unique place with an original film that set them apart from everyone else.

The Daniels have created an epic tale that encompasses everything, from tax audits to fashion shows, an epic journey through multiverse space for a laundromat owner and her rebirth as humanity - all while serving as personal projects for them both as they grew up in Alabama and began making short films together.

They began with a limited budget and location options, yet managed to craft some captivating scenes by being strategic with their resources. For instance, when Daniels needed an attractive woman to portray Evelyn Wang - the main character in their movie - she went out and found an actress who looked similar but could also handle all of the demands that came along with playing Evelyn.

She had an extraordinary talent, but there was another aspect to her that made it even greater: She was an accomplished dancer.

She is a musician

Daniel Scheinert was raised in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Guntersville with his parents Ken and Becky. His dad Kenneth is a retired accountant who still works as an auditor for a local bank. Since high school, Daniel has had an interest in filmmaking which culminated with him writing and directing several short films such as Everything Everywhere All at Once and Swiss Army Man.

He loves hearing from people in his hometown about people's reactions to their odd movies. One story from when they released "Swiss Army Man" in 2016 stood out: while it had many admirers in Birmingham, some didn't enjoy it at all.

The Daniels, collectively known as Everything Everywhere All at Once, have been working together since they were film students. In their early days they made music videos and experimented with different techniques until directing a popular DJ Snake and Lil Jon video that went viral and boasts over 1 billion views on YouTube.

They've achieved the milestone of writing and directing feature films, which is truly remarkable. Their last movie, Swiss Army Man, earned them an Academy Award nomination as well as a five-year exclusive partnership from Universal Pictures - something very few filmmakers are able to say!

Their latest film, Everything Everywhere All at Once, stars Michelle Yeoh as a Chinese American woman who travels across multiverses to save them from Jobu (Stephanie Hsu). She gets to wear an impressive outfit as she saves the day!

Their film's greatest strength lies in its seamless transitions, from clever exposition scenes to its thrilling conclusion. As they explain in their Q&A, creating this genre hybrid took them a long time - which adds an extra layer of complexity.

They conceived the concept for this film by reworking an exposition scene from their critically acclaimed debut, Swiss Army Man. This scene involved Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) explaining to her husband that she can travel between universes and back again. As they were rewriting it, Kwan drew inspiration from Nine Days' song "Absolutely (Story of a Girl") which lead singer John Hampson graciously agreed to use in their film.
