Sequoyah Public Schools recently named their gymnasium court in Claremore school building after custodian Butch Rhine, who never expected such an honor. After all, Rhine had been employed by the district for many years and even attended when he was a child.
As a child, Butch lived with his parents and two sisters in St. Louis, Missouri. His mother Selma operated a small family business from her home office.
She also volunteered for the Red Cross, serving as a nursing assistant and then home health aide. Furthermore, she was part of the National Honor Society.
During WWII, Butch served in the United States Navy as a pilot. He joined VF-3 in 1941 and was assigned to train young fliers on Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-1 "Yellow Peril" planes and Stearman NS-1 biplane trainers.
One of the most vital skills Butch acquired during this period was aerial gunnery, which would later prove to be his most invaluable asset in battle. After flying his first dogfight with VF-3 over Makin Island, Japan on a F6F Hellcat on June 24th 1942, Butch quickly earned himself the reputation as an expert aerial gunner.
He quickly earned a reputation for flying accurately and efficiently, earning himself the nickname of the "Bitching Team." Assigned to an F6F Hellcat squadron, he and his crew practiced various aerial gunnery techniques such as target recognition, hit-and-run maneuvers, and low altitude/high speed dogfighting.
At their most dangerous moments, however, the team would rely on ship-mounted radar to spot targets. Once launched a Grumman TBF Avenger torpedo bomber and guided by radio communication from ship to plane, this strategy proved highly successful as it allowed them to elude Japanese antiaircraft fire and take out their adversaries by surprise.
Butch knew the most crucial task during this dogfight was to keep his gun crews in a position where they could shoot steadily, no matter how many incoming bombers came his way. As he maneuvered into point-blank range, Butch aimed for one of the Japanese Bettys trailing behind and shot it out of formation, splashing it into the ocean.
The Supreme Court of the United States is the ultimate arbiter of legal decisions throughout America and upholds and interprets its Constitution. Its highest duty lies in guaranteeing that Americans receive equal justice under law.
The Court consists of 15 judges and is administered by a Registry, its administrative arm. In addition to conducting preliminary examinations and investigations, the Court also engages directly with communities that have suffered crimes under its jurisdiction, creating an atmosphere of belonging in the judicial process for those affected by them.
As a matter of practice, the Court takes great care to avoid conflicts of interest that could undermine its integrity and impartiality. Its judges are selected based on their qualifications and subject to an intense code of conduct.
Furthermore, the Court is prohibited from taking sides in a case and must follow a rule that decisions must be based on facts rather than political considerations. This ensures the integrity of the judicial system and guarantees justice is served.
The Court's reputation for impartiality and objective decision-making has been recognized by the United Nations. Its members are elected by both the General Assembly and Security Council for terms of nine years.
Its duties include prosecuting violations of international law and promoting a just peace. Its officers and employees are carefully chosen for their qualifications, then subjected to an extensive disciplinary process.
Members of the Court receive special training in their duties and are pre-screened by the Office of Attorney General for legal and ethical competence. Furthermore, they are required to report on their activities to both the United Nations and public opinion.
To meet these objectives, the Court offers free and user-friendly e-filing services that enable people to file complaints against government agencies and individuals online. These tools are accessible by all, making them ideal for small business owners.
The Supreme Court has a distinguished record of providing equal access to justice for all Americans who live and work here. This commitment has earned them the title "people's court." The Court strives to guarantee that citizens have access to justice by adjudicating all legal matters fairly, impartially and efficiently.
School officials in Claremore Sequoyah district have honored one of their longtime custodians by naming a gymnasium court after Butch Rhine. According to school officials, Butch Rhine was an exemplary professional and hard worker.
In addition to his remarkable work at the court, Rhine also spearheaded campus-wide initiatives that achieved remarkable efficiency and cost savings. For instance, he introduced a unified student services system designed to reduce administrative overhead and enhance student access to resources. Furthermore, Rhine led CSC to record graduation rates; hence why his inauguration will be commemorated with an establishment of a Rhine Legacy Scholarship in his memory.
Rhine was an early pioneer in this field, yet his research on psi has since been discredited by rationalists within the field. This includes claims like the Zener card and so-called psi sphere as well as many other amazing claims made over half a century. Nonetheless, there may be some truth to Rhine's claims; specifically, some evidence suggests the most successful psi test was conducted by him and colleagues at a laboratory in Buffalo, New York.
The Rhine family is an influential and powerful family that originated from Bavaria, Germany. With a long-standing presence within their local community, they have earned themselves a place of honor and respect.
The name Rhine was first recorded in 1280 by Reinerus Reynberti of Rostolk, Bavaria - a member of the nobility. This family became known as Reiners and quickly spread throughout Germany as an everyday household name.
This family has a rich heritage and strong presence in the United States. Their network of branches across America is extensive, and they are renowned for their devotion to their country.
Rhine Landscaping provides Howard County homeowners with the finest landscaping, hardscaping, swimming pool builds and drainage solutions. Their team of experienced and qualified professionals create stunning outdoor living spaces that are both functional and artistic.
On Tuesday evening, Butch Rhine, the legacy custodian at Sequoyah Public Schools for over 35 years, was honored with a court naming ceremony. Unbeknownst to him until the day before the ceremony, Butch had been an invaluable member of their district.
On March 18, Claremore Sequoyah officials unveiled a plaque at the court to honor Butch's service and dedication to both students and community. As an enduring reminder of Butch's devotion, officials say the inscription serves as both tribute to him and serves as a lasting testament of what he accomplished.
Butch Rhine played an instrumental role in the American campaign to convince Japan to surrender during World War II, helping spread awareness of General Douglas MacArthur's iconic "I shall return" speech by having it featured on matchbook covers and broadcasting it over radio and television broadcasts.
While working as a screenwriter in the late 1930s, Rhine also produced several musical short films for Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox. These included Chip of the Flying U (1940), The Devil's Pipeline, The Leather Pushers, A Dangerous Game and Six Lessons from Madame La Zonga.
After WWII, Rhine pursued a career as both radio and television writer, contributing to shows like Duffy's Tavern and The Gale Storm Show. Additionally, he continued his journalism career, traveling the globe with work featured in national newspapers like USA Today, The New York Times and Washington Post. Unfortunately, Rhine passed away in 2000 at the age of 90.
