Country Music Awards

The Country Music Awards (CMAs) are held annually to recognize and honor country music artists and their accomplishments. Produced and presented by the Country Music Association in Nashville, Tennessee, these shows are broadcasted live on ABC with numerous award shows as well as other special events.

The CMAs are widely considered the pinnacle of country music awards, drawing in an average of 7 million viewers annually. As such, they hold a special place in industry circles as being among the highest rated events within this genre.

The CMAs, held annually in November, are broadcast live on ABC from Nashville. Hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton - who have both hosted the event for several years - this annual event has become a must-watch event for country music fans worldwide.

This year's show will showcase an array of collaborations between country stars. Some of country music's biggest names will perform songs with other artists, including Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean; Kane Brown and Chris Young; Mickey Guyton alongside Brittney Spencer and Madeline Edwards; Stevie Ray Vaughn with Lynyrd Skynyrd; etc.

The awards ceremony will also pay a poignant tribute to country singer Loretta Lynn. She will be remembered for her hit songs and humanitarian work, with performances honoring her friends and family members who shared in her success.

In addition to performances by country stars, the Country Music Association Awards will feature performances by pop, rock and blues musicians as well. Plus, there will be a special "CMT Awards Equal Play Award" presented to outstanding female artists.

On Monday night's awards show, Carrie Underwood will give the opening performance of her hit song "Hate My Heart", from her Denim & Rhinestones album which reached number one on Country Radio this week.

At the event, she sang her song "Hallelujah," which she co-wrote and recorded with her husband Mike Fisher. They have been married since 2006.

Onstage, Underwood performed her hits from both her Denim & Rhinestones project and classic career hits. Her sons Isaiah Michael (8), and Jacob Bryan (4), joined their mother for the performance.

CMT Music Awards

On Sunday night, Underwood, the most-awarded artist in CMT history with 25 awards, took over the CMT Music Awards by performing her new single "Hate My Heart." Fans were thrilled as Underwood took center stage and fans sang along to every word as she performed with enthusiasm and passion.

Underwood, wearing glitzy shorts and a pink jacket adorned with bedazzled hearts, delivered energetic guitar riffs to get the crowd roaring. At the end of her set, fireworks illuminated the skies over Austin, Texas.

The country singer added some shimmer to the red carpet before her awards show appearance, where she posed alongside Wynonna Judd wearing a sparkling long-sleeved jacket and short shorts by Dolce & Gabbana. Both pieces featured silver crystals covering them, giving the 40-year-old an entirely bejeweled ensemble.

At the CMT Music Awards, Underwood looked stunning with her blonde hair up in a sleek ponytail and diamond earrings hanging from her ears. She donned an eye-catching two piece that showcased her toned legs, then finished the look off with metallic silver pumps and a crystal box clutch.

In addition to her performance, Underwood paid tribute to two country legends. Loretta Lynn, who passed away in 2022, was honored with a special tribute that featured Lambert, McEntire and others singing a medley of her classic hits.

Other artists present at the event included Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and more. Numerous country music stars were nominated for awards, including Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown.

At the awards ceremony, Underwood will be awarded video of the year for her new single "Hate My Heart." Additionally, she's nominated for female video of the year with her empowering song "Ghost Story."

At the CMT Music Awards, Underwood will perform "Hate My Heart," paying homage to two country music legends - Loretta Lynn and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Red Carpet

On April 2nd at the 2023 CMT Music Awards in Texas, country singer Carrie Underwood made a stunning entrance with an eye-catching bejeweled ensemble that made us want to buy all her outfits. The American Idol winner donned an exquisite Swarovski embellished tailcoat, matching shorts, and silver heels that dazzled to perfection.

The singer completed her look with a matching silver jacket covered in rhinestones, adding an extra layer of glamour. Her hair was styled into a sleek but distressed ponytail and she finished off the ensemble with dramatic lashes, rosy cheeks, a golden highlight and peachy lips.

On Tuesday night, Carrie Underwood performed her new single "Hate My Heart." With 25 awards won at the CMT Music Awards and records set for both female video of the year wins and entertainer of the year nominations, Carrie is nominated for both categories.

Her performance was one to remember and marked the perfect conclusion to her Denim and Rhinestones tour, which recently concluded. Following her show, the singer took to social media to reflect on her journey.

She shared a photo of her adorable son, proudly standing atop her shoulders. Mike Fisher joined her on the red carpet and they looked so sweet together.

At Austin's Moody Center, a star-studded event was held to honor the night's biggest winners. Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown and Gwen Stefani were among those in attendance to witness history being made.

Though not strictly enforced, organizers do ask that you refrain from wearing bright or sequined duds nor cowboy hats. Instead, opt for elevated country-inspired pieces.

Carrie looked stunning in her bejeweled Dolce & Gabbana ensemble and we can't wait to see what else she has in store for her fans! The singer will release her latest album on May 13, so make sure you check it out!

Performance

Carrie Underwood stunted Austin with her stunning performance of her hit song "Hate My Heart" at the 2022 CMT Music Awards. The singer donned a black leather corset top adorned with crystals hanging off, along with high-waisted leather shorts decorated in red hearts and a matching red heart blazer on top.

Underwood's stunning wardrobe, creativity and showmanship were on full display as she seamlessly transitioned between cinematic storytelling, faithful performances and high-powered rockstar delivery. Highlights included impressive lifts and aerial stunts as well as pyrotechnics that punctuated her songs with flair and new live takes on classic hits.

The singer concluded her remarkable night with a cover of Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle," which electrified the crowd and left them clamoring for more. Additionally, she took time out of the show to honor Lynyrd Skynyrd, performing an epic tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn at its peak.

Carrie Underwood's performance was complemented by an ensemble featuring Grammy award-winner Clark Jr., guitarist Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and guest appearance by Slash from Guns N' Roses. Other musicians joining Carrie onstage included Paul Rodgers, Cody Johnson and backup vocalists LeAnn Rimes and Judd.

Underwood is known for her powerful voice, but her song "Hate My Heart" is one of the worst country hits ever released. Not only are the lyrics unexceptional and lacking emotion, but it's downright tedious to listen to - making it a difficult choice to listen to.

Though lacking in depth or cleverness, the lyrics still possess an emotional impact that can serve as a motivating reminder to keep moving forward in life.

At the awards ceremony, Underwood was nominated for several awards, including video of the year and album of the year. If she wins, it'll break her record of 25 CMT Music Awards. Additionally, she could take home female artist of the year - an incredible feat in itself!
