Suga, one of BTS's key members, is set to release his first solo album this month. Entitled "D-Day," it will be available on April 21. Additionally, Suga plans on unveiling a pre-release track on Friday as well.

D-Day was a pivotal event during World War II, yet many people lack knowledge about it. A survey by YouGov has revealed that half of Britons don't even understand what D-Day is or why it was so significant.

D-Day marked the start of the Allies' campaign to liberate Europe from Nazi rule. It was one of history's largest military operations, involving over one million troops and an array of ships transporting them to France. Furthermore, it marked a seaborne invasion along an 80 kilometre stretch known as Normandy on France's north shoreline.

Though large in number, there was some uncertainty as to how successful the invasion would be. The American army launched the first wave of paratroopers on Utah Beach; however, they lost thousands due to malfunctioning equipment or enemy fire, while seaborne forces landed more than a mile from their intended landing spots due to strong currents.

By nightfall, the Allies had linked their beachheads and had put a total of 156,000 men on shore. Additionally, they conducted acts of sabotage against transport and communication networks to weaken the German army's ability to resist invasion.

Ultimately, the Allies prevailed in the war - but not without its share of difficulties. It was an expensive and complex operation with numerous disagreements regarding how best to conduct it. Ultimately, US General Dwight Eisenhower took command and led from behind with his expertise in planning and commanding. His approach proved more assertive than what the British had originally envisioned for their campaign.

In addition to his new album release, Suga also announced a tour that will take him around the globe. The 'SUGA | Agust D D-DAY TOUR' begins in April with shows in multiple countries around the world such as the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea.

Suga will release his third studio album under the alias Agust D, following up on D-2, his 2020 mixtape. This year has been an incredible journey for SUGA who also made his solo debut with "People Pt. 2," his first single.
