The annual McDonald's All-American Game has become a legendary event, offering athletes the opportunity to showcase their abilities before NBA scouts. Additionally, it puts the best high school players in America under the spotlight.

This year's Toyota Center event in Houston was filled with familial ties, fierce competition and some spectacular shooting. Here are some of the top performances from Tuesday's game.

Isaiah Collier (USC commit)

The 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys Game is a star-studded event that puts the top high school basketball players in America under the spotlight. College basketball coaches and NBA scouts from around the country come to watch these talented individuals in action on Tuesday night at Toyota Center, when several matchups of note took place with intense intensity.

One of the biggest surprises of the evening was Isaiah Collier's commitment to USC over Cincinnati, Michigan and UCLA - an incredible victory for Andy Enfield and his recruiting efforts.

Collier is one of the best point guards in the country and will bring to USC the vision and passing skills that were lacking since Jordan McLaughlin left for the NBA. A throwback-style playmaker who thrives on ball screens and rebounds, Collier also has impressive shooting range with a strong handle and nice crossover shot.

His on-ball defense is also impressive. He's a hardworking, strong and aggressive player who plays with plenty of energy. With the size and strength to fight over or get through ball screens, plus the ability to shoot the deep jumper from far enough away for defenders to be taken off their feet, this versatile attacker is ideal for taking down big shots in transition.

Collier is the latest in a long line of top-level commitments to join USC's roster under Enfield. In addition to Watkins' announcement on Wednesday, five-star guard Malachi Nelson and four-star forward Zachariah Branch are expected to join the Trojans next year.

Enfield has now secured two top-five recruiting classes in three years, potentially vaulting the Trojans back to the top of the Pac-12. If Collier stays at USC, it would mark their second top-five recruiting class since 2011. That feat is truly remarkable and should help boost Enfield's team back into contention for conference supremacy.

The 2023 recruiting class is packed with star power. ESPN lists Philadelphia-bred wing Justin Edwards, 247 Sports lists Atlanta point guard Isaiah Collier and On3 lists Arizona native Cody Williams at the top of their list.

These three players, as well as others like Texas commit Ron Holland, Colorado commit Cody Williams and G League Ignite's Matas Buzelis (G League Ignite), must excel to cement their place as the top prospects of this class.

D.J. Wagner (Kentucky commit)

On Monday night, the top player in the 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys Game declared his commitment to Kentucky, adding another key piece to their already impressive recruiting class. Wagner from Camden (New Jersey) High School officially pledged his allegiance to John Calipari and the Wildcats over in-state rival Louisville.

In the months leading up to Wagner's announcement, there has been a long-running rivalry between his school and university. Family ties played an integral role in his choice; his father Dajuan Wagner played for Calipari at Memphis before making it big in the NBA, while Milt Wagner played college ball for Louisville.

DJ Wagner is the epitome of a high school basketball star, boasting an impressive social media presence and impressive recruiting profile. He was widely expected to win the top position in the 2023 class, having been highly sought-after by all of the top programs.

His commitment to Kentucky caps off what has already been a record-setting recruiting class, featuring four five-star prospects. In addition to Wagner, Kentucky also gained commitments from one of his teammates at Camden; Robert Dillingham (the top-rated point guard in America); Justin Edwards (a versatile wing from Philadelphia); and North Laurel High School star Reed Sheppard.

After the announcement, Wagner stated his intent to attend Calipari next year and continue playing his college ball there. He thanked Calipari for providing him with the opportunities necessary to reach his full potential.

He expressed his delight with the recruiting visits he received this week, noting it as "an incredible time" and feeling confident he has found his home at Kentucky.

This week, the Kentucky recruiting team has been out in search of some of their most highly sought-after players. These include Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw - both Class of 2023 targets.

On his trip, Wagner had the opportunity to meet Calipari, his dad and other current members of the Kentucky program. Additionally, he got to connect with some classmates from Camden, such as walk-on guard Kareem Watkins and junior forward Lance Ware.

Bronny James (undeclared)

Bronny James (undeclared) put in an impressive performance on the court. He made two 3-pointers within the opening minutes and his father LeBron was incredibly impressed with his shooting prowess.

The McDonald's All-American Games is one of the nation's premier high school basketball honors and this year it will take place at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The 24 players chosen to represent their schools at the 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys Game are among the nation's top high school players.

NBA scouts consider this game to be one of the most crucial evaluation opportunities, offering players one last chance to make an impression before college decisions are made. Furthermore, high school students can benefit from this event with national recognition and exposure as they prepare for their college careers.

Last week, McDonald's All-American game roster was unveiled. This year's participants are 24 of the nation's top high school hoopers from 41 states plus D.C., including two "legacy kids" -- D.J. Wagner (son of NBA legend Dajuan James) and Bronny James (eldest son of Lakers star LeBron James).

McDonald's All-American Games boasts an intensely competitive field with so many players involved. On March 28th, the winners will square off in a final at Toyota Center.

This year's McDonald's All-American Game featured several high-scoring teams, each led by their best player. Team East pulled off an incredible comeback to defeat Team West 109-106 in an exciting second half contest.

After dominating the first half, Team West took an early lead in the third quarter before Kentucky commit D.J. Wagner came through and scored all 19 of his points in the second half - leading Team East to a commanding victory on the road at 2023 McDonald's All-American Game. It was an impressive display by the Kentucky commit that helped Team East pull away with their fourth straight victory on their home turf.

Bronny James' college decision remains uncertain, and many recruiters are keeping an eye on him. According to 247Sports, he ranks as the 34th highest uncommitted player for the 2023 cycle; college teams are eager to see where he ends up.

Jared McCain (Duke commit)

Jared McCain, a 6-5 combo guard from Centennial (Calif.), won the 3-point shootout and dunk contest ahead of Baylor signee Ja'Kobe Walter, Stanford signee Andrej Stojakovic and Kentucky pledge Reed Sheppard.

The 2023 McDonald's All-American Game is one of the most eagerly anticipated high school basketball events each year. It puts America's top prospects on display for a national audience and gives fans an opportunity to see players they may not otherwise get to witness live.

This year's All-American event brought out the best and featured some notable celebrities. LeBron James, his son Bronny James and daughter Kylie James all sat courtside to watch their future teammates compete on Tuesday night.

McCain was an impressive performer in both the shootout and dunk contest, though his performance wasn't quite up to par with some other big names in 2023. As a Duke commit, McCain enjoys immense popularity on social media with hundreds of thousands of followers.

He's an impressive shooter, but his dunks could use some improvement. While he still struggles with the double pump, he's working on it and improving every day. Recently he threw down this dunk that wasn't quite a 50 but was still impressive nonetheless.

At the McDonald's All-American Games, some of basketball's biggest stars had an opportunity to show off their skillset - and they did just that. McCain, a five-star recruit who has committed to Duke, won both the 3-point shootout and dunk competition, becoming only the 11th future Blue Devil to do so; joining other notable alumni such as Cam Reddish, Luke Kennard, Ryan Kelly, JJ Redick and Shane Battier in winning this event.

After winning the shootout, McCain took to the dunk competition and displayed his athleticism with two impressive dunks: a windmill over Duke commit Mackenzie Mgbako and one assisted by Ronald McDonald who stepped in for help with the slam.
