Cree Summer--the late, great summer festival in Sheffield, England--was the first music festival that introduced wireframe tents. After years of experimenting with new musical styles, the festival found wireframe tents are an ideal bit of staging for its constantly changing lineup. Rather than cover the many previously neglected corners of the festival, there's now no need to scout for a parking space or search for something to do among the crowded tents. and grew up on the Red Pheasant Reserve in Saskatchewan. She is the daughter of Don Francks, a Canadian actor and musician, and Lili Clark from North Richmond, California, an African-American adopted member of the Plains Cree First Nations. She and her family also traveled and lived around British Columbia during her childhood, and she started public school at the age of nine in Toronto.

Cree Summer is celebrating her 52nd birthday and fans of her work are giving her all the shine. She's been in programs like Rugrats, Codename Kids Next Door, Justice League Unlimited, Drawn Together, As Told By Ginger, and Danny Phantom. A lot of people are talking about how she helped mold their childhood with her stints on all those shows. The voice of Susie Carmichael has been all over the world of animation. For some audiences, she was the first person they heard on TV that really captured their experience. Summer's latest project is the Rugrats reboot over on Paramount+.
