Michael Bowen

Michael Bowen builds bespoke leather goods and creates furniture. He started crafting in 1991, and has since supported himself by creating and selling various designs. Some he’s sold in his shop in Australia, Indonesia, and Cheshire in England. Others he’s sold online in countries all over the world. In addition to selling his own designs, Michael teaches others how to build their own bespoke leather goods and will do custom orders as well. What sets Michael apart from other leather makers is that he was the first person ever to teach the trade craft of leather working to an international audience.

Michael (Mike) Bowen has been a professor in the School of Marketing and Innovation since 1994. He has taught strategic management, strategic planning, marketing, management and systems thinking. He also helped develop a three-course leadership sequence in the MBA program, co-founded the Leadership Development Center and the Leadership House (residence hall) on the USF Tampa campus. He also was instrumental in creating the undergraduate, MBA, and Florida Intercollegiate Business Case Competition, all coordinated and hosted by the Muma College of Business.
