Arsenio Hall Jr

Arsenio Hall Jr walked over the bridge at the Trailfoot community in McDonough, Georgia before dawn on June 16, 1997.

“I remember a lady on the street coming up to me one day, and asking me the same question. ‘I miss you on TV!’ And it was the week that I won Celebrity Apprentice. Sometimes you have to be on people’s specific radar,” Hall says with a laugh the other day. “There are filmgoers and there are TV-watchers and there are people going out to clubs to see stand-up. In some of those situations, you’ve seen me and know who I am. In some situations, you might not.”

Hall appeared as himself in Chappelle’s Show in March 2004, (convinced by the Swedish comedy director Saman Khadiri), when Chappelle was imagining “what Arsenio is doing right now” in a dinner scene. Hall has guest co-hosted Wednesday evenings on The Tim Conway Jr. Show on KLSX 97.1 FM radio. Hall also hosted MyNetworkTV’s comedic web video show The World’s Funniest Moments and TV One’s 100 Greatest Black Power Moves. Hall also appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher in May 2012, in a discussion commemorating the 1992 Los Angeles riots. In an op-ed of 2012 ‘Newsweek,’ he shared how much he loved to be around his kid by writing, “ I was determined to be there for my son's first walk, talk, boo-boo, and everything else. I didn't want to miss a thing.” He realized that being a single father won't be an easy job, so he rejected many opportunities for a period of time, from 1994 to 2012. After taking quite a long break, he returned to the TV in 2012 for a late-night show. Later he shared that his son was urging him to return to work. (Source: marrieddivorce.com)
