Alpo Martinez is a U.S. Navy veteran and the youngest college graduate in the United States at 19. His memoir, "Born To Be Wild", shares what it was like growing up with his father's wild lifestyle. In the book, Martinez outlines the addiction of cooking meth, setting fire to the family home, and being in and out of jail. His memoir also discusses the reasons why he didn't want his son to be a meth-head like his father.

Drug

Martinez was indicted on federal drug charges in July 1990 with two other men. The indictment against Martinez was dismissed when he remained a fugitive at the time their trial began November 1991. According to the affidavit, Nathaniel Watkins (Rich Porter's cousin), Martinez's co-defendant in the Alexandria, Virginia case, told the FBI in 1989 he was present when Martinez gave $300,000 to a fellow drug dealer in a Crystal City, Virginia hotel room and instructed the man to take the money to New York.

Meet

Chango is finally learning how to be Martin Mejias. Although he admits it’s an everyday battle, things are looking up for the Manhattan native, as he is entertaining book and documentary opportunities. In a video that went viral, Chango was sitting down with notorious film producer Harvey Weinstein in a restaurant discussing a potential film when a woman came in berating Weinstein, bringing the meeting to an abrupt ending.

Chango: Alpo was five years older than me. I never met him. I used to see him all the time in the neighborhood. Pride kept me from meeting him. It be like that when you’re young and ignorant. When I got out, I made arrangements through a mutual friend, Ms. Tee, she is an author and YouTube personality. I sent him a shoutout so that I could break the ice and meet him so that I can pitch some ideas to him that I had. I thought I had a long time to do that, but I didn’t because he was murdered. As far as him being murdered, I think they killed the “King of Swag.” (Source: www.zenger.news)
