Shaunie O’Neal’s divorce from her NBA legend ex-husband and father to her four kids, Shaquille O’Neal, is one of the most tumultuous dramas seen in celebrity divorces history.

At every level of basketball, Shaquille O’Neal dominated. He was the McDonald’s All-American Game MVP after his prep career in San Antonio, Texas. With the LSU Tigers, he was a two-time Consensus First-Team All-American selection. The No. 1 overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic won four NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, earned three NBA Finals MVP awards, was a 15-time NBA All-Star, is the only player other than Willis Reed and Michael Jordan to win the NBA MVP, All-Star Game MVP, and NBA Finals MVP in the same season (2000) and of course played alongside the late, great Kobe Bryant. On December 26, 2002, she married basketball player Shaquille O’Neal at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Before and during their marriage, the couple had four children, Shareef (born 2000), Amirah (born 2001), Shaqir (born 2003), and Me’arah (born 2006). Shaunie has a son, Myles, from a previous relationship. While Shaquille O’Neill has a daughter, Taahirah, with his ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaquille and Shaunie O’Neal separated on September 4, 2007, after five years of marriage. But soon reconciled. On November 10, 2009, Shaunie filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences. So, the divorce was finalized in 2011. His eldest son, Shareef, is a standout basketball player who signed with UCLA in 2018, and later moved to LSU in 2020.

The couple were married back on December 26, 2002. at the Beverly Hills Hotel They share four children together, two born before their wedding and two after. They were together for much of the four-time NBA champion’s playing career before a brief separation in 2007. However, they filed for divorce in November 2009.
