Our team always gets a kick out of looking at the different shapes and colors of the leaves that emerge from our trees in the fall. So we created a simple Google Sheets spreadsheet for people who are always curious about telling the difference between a switchback and a multiflow.

StemStem and Leaf Plot Graphing: It Is a Specific Table Used to Showcase the Data in the Interesting Way. Here Each Digit in the Data Is Split Into a Stem (1st Digit(s)) and Leaf (last Digit(s)). It Plots Data Similar to the Horizontal Bar Graph but Uses the Original Data Instead of Bars. the Stem and Leaf Plot Is Similar to Histogram in Displaying the Statistical Data.

A stem-and-leaf diagram, also called a stem-and-leaf plot, is a diagram that quickly summarizes data while maintaining the individual data points. In such a diagram, the "stem" is a column of the unique elements of data after removing the last digit. The final digits ("leaves") of each column are then placed in a row next to the appropriate column and sorted in numerical order. This diagram was invented by John Tukey. A stem-and-leaf plot is a way of organizing data into a form to easily look at the frequency of different types of values. The process will be easiest to follow with sample data, so let's pretend that a sports statistician wants to make a stem-and-leaf plot for a recent game played by the Blues basketball team. The total minutes played by each team member has been recorded. In this lesson we'll make a stem-and-leaf plot to clearly display data distributions. In the examples, you'll learn how to organize data and to use the stem-and-leaf plot to obtain answers to interesting questions. Updated: 03/30/2021
