Football coach Mike Lee McDaniel is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the National Football League. He is the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. He is known as the "Coach M". He has won the NFL Head Coaching Championship two times, the first time in 2009 and 2012. He has won three Super Bowls. His coaching style is unique, and has been the subject of many biographical books.

A former offensive assistant with the Browns and New York Jets, McDaniel was able to improve his coaching style under Kyle Shanahan, Matt LaFleur and Doug McCravy. In 2014, McDaniel became the wide receivers coach and was promoted to the head coaching position. In 2015, he was hired by the Falcons, and he helped them become one of the top teams in passing yards. Both seasons, the team won Super Bowls.

McDaniel has had stints as a receivers coach with the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons, the Cleveland Browns in 2013, and the Washington Redskins for three seasons. In 2013, Washington's Pierre Garcon led the NFL with 113 receptions. He also worked with running backs with the Sacramento Lions in 2009-10. In that season, Mitchell became the 49ers' leading rusher, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
