### Percent

Convert mixed numbers or mixed fractions to percents. The mixed number to percentage calculator finds the decimal equivalent by finding the decimal value of the fraction, adding the decimal to the whole number part of the mixed number, and multiplying by 100 to get the percent. Shows the work to change the mixed number to a percent.

You often need to find out what percent of something in your daily life. To understand how to convert percent to fraction, consider an example. If a school has 865 students out of which 389 are female, then what percent of students are female. To solve this you need to divide both the numbers. It is 389 out of 865 or $$\small \frac{389}{865} = 0.44971$$. To simplify this you need to convert it into percent, which is $$\small 44.9711 \%$$. Now, let’s discuss how to convert percent and fraction in detail. (Source: byjus.com)

### Decimal

Since 0.49999999... or 0.4 is indistinguishable from 0.5 because the series of 9's never ends, we have another way in which all terminating decimals may be written as recurring ones - always replace the last non-zero digit, D, of a terminating decimal fraction by D-1 followed by a recurring period of 9's.

Mathematically though, we do not use a period of in our decimal fractions but again choose to write it as a finite sequence of digits wherever possible (i.e. so that it terminates). (Source: www.maths.surrey.ac.uk)
